Over 20 years of weather have taken its toll on our porch…. So it’s time for a revamp.

The main structure is still solid but the fascia was looking a little worse for wear. Take a look at our story to see how it looked before.

We looked at fancy fascia boards on line but were unable to find anything that we liked enough to commit to.
Looking back through some photos of vintage pieces that I’ve bought and sold over the years and I came across this pine wall unit, I loved the simplicity of the design, so we’ve used this as our inspiration for our new fascia board.
Handmade by Mr Umbrella in our home workshop.
He’s also made a beautiful oak front door too. Although I’m not sure when he’ll have time to fit it!

COMMISSION
I’ll be working on this Ercol plank extension over the next few days. The top is ready to be refinished after stripping off the old finish from the 1960’s.
The legs are next and will be finished by hand….

Friday and Saturday: I’m taking advantage of having the flat above the shop empty and have brought ‘the beast’ with me to work on these 2 Ercol table tops. (Commissions)

I’ll be using my sander and extraction unit for the next few days. This is very noisy, so access to the shop will be via the entrance though my workspace for the next few days. This is located around the corner and is the 2nd door (30b, Glass Door).
