Important Update Regarding Your Loan/Hire Purchase Account
Further to our previous update informing you that Walter Cox Ltd has closed and Northpoint have been appointed as Liquidators, we are writing to confirm that, as of 28 February 2026, your remaining balance has been written off, in full, for all accounts you hold with us.
What does this mean for you?
We stopped accepting payments from 28 February 2026. Our bank account has now been closed. As a result, any payments received will be automatically returned to you. However, if you have any standing orders in place, you may wish to contact your bank to ensure these are cancelled.
Be alert to scams
All customers should remain alert to the possibility of fraud. If anyone contacts you claiming to represent Walter Cox Ltd or requesting payment, do not pay them. Please report this to us immediately at [email protected] and to the Illegal Money Lending Team (24-Hour Helpline: 0300 555 2222 or www.stoploansharks.co.uk using the Live Chat available 9am-5pm, Mon-Fri).

Will my Account be sold on to another company?
No. Your Account will not be transferred or sold to any other company. You will not be contacted by another firm seeking to collect payments for this Account.
Where should you go if you need another loan?
If you’re looking for an alternative firm to provide a loan, you should only deal with firms authorised by the FCA. If you’re unsure whether a firm is authorised, check the Financial Services Register.
