🌟 Green issues/Environmental Health Champion – Open Door Furniture Recycling

This year’s nominees were:

This award recognises an individual or group making a real difference in the fight against climate change at a local level. That might be recycling, litter picking or promoting positive campaigns that encourage sustainable habits. Their actions inspire others and help protect our town and planet.

Open Door Furniture Recycling supports low-income families across East Lancashire with essential goods, reduces landfill waste through reuse, and promotes sustainability with the help of dedicated volunteers.

The award was presented by Lukman Patel, Chief Executive of Burnley Borough Council.

We need to clear out some space with items that were donated quite some time ago. The tip is booked for next Thursday so if you want to rescue something to give it a home, want to upcycle something please come and pick it up for free!

(Only applies to furniture outside with the free to collect labels)

Our usual opening hours are;
Monday - Thursday 9am - 4pm (we close on bank holidays)

Over the last week we've been busy moving back to Burnley. We've moved into the old infant school on ivy street (where Emmaus were...)

We are open
Monday - Thursday 9.30-4pm

Please come visit our new location (and St Mary's has new owners so please don't visit there!)

If you're trying to call us please be patient and remember we are staffed by volunteers so please treat them with kindness.

We could do always do with more volunteers, so if you are handy with office/admin skills and could spare a few hours per week please call into St Mary's and speak to Mark.
