🌊A few changes are happening!
We are launching a nappy library 🎉
It will be on a pay what you can afford, cash only basis to begin with (suggestion £15).
Tell me what you’d like to try…
Right now we have a range of full pocket nappy kits, two part systems, all in ones, also kits that are a bit of everything if you want to try them all!
Brands available include Baba & Boo, Totsbots, Little Lamb and more.
You can pick a kit up from me (Amie) in sunny Mundesley! 🌞

🌊Drop in sessions will be resuming once a month in September at the Get Me Out The Four Walls hub and the All saints community rooms hub in Mundesley.

🌊There has been a slight price increase in sling consultations, these are now £50, if you are Norwich and beyond I will have to add a bit on for fuel as I’m sure you’re all aware of the rising cost of travelling. I hate having to up the prices but I haven’t done this in the whole 5 years of operating. Hopefully it’ll offset the few slings that have been stolen and the rising cost of living.

🌞phew it’s been warm 🥵

What have you all been doing to keep cool in the glorious sunshine with your babies?

🌊Here’s some top tips for staying cool this summer!

🌊 use a lightweight carrier (some even have uv protective fabric)

🌊Wear light layers, you’re sharing body heat and the sling acts as another layer of clothing!

🌊Stay hydrated and remember to take extra water for you and baby if you’re going out.

🌊Seek shade where you can, use a mini fan, cool cloth.

🌊make sure exposed areas are protected, wide brimmed hats with a chin strap are great and there are lots of gentle baby sun creams available.

🌊using a buggy with a good uv shade is also a good option (we’re not anti buggy just because we love babywearing) ⚠️Please don’t drape blankets over the carrier or buggy . This restricts air flow and increases the temperature.

🌊Hip carrying and back carrying positions are cooler than on the front.

🌊A parasol can be a really beautiful accessory and as you have your hands free when using your sling you can hold it freely!

These are probably the most budget friendly slings on the market and they’re great from day one if you learn how to wear them correctly.

I’m using a Kari me two way stretchy wrap in this video although there are many others available. If you’d like to borrow one from the sling library just pop me a message!

😭MISSING SLING😭

Yes the individual who borrowed this £168 beautiful Oscha Bairn Starry Night still hasn’t returned it.

😔unfortunately I had to let a family down who were waiting to hire it

😔I also wanted to use it with my own baby

This has made me so sad and I can’t afford to replace it.

Now I’m extremely tempted to name and shame this person because it’s down right scummy behaviour.

I am a largely non profit business and I take pride in helping people on their babywearing journey. I feel personally attacked when people abuse my sling library because I have spoken to all of you on a parent to parent level this person included.

❗️when a sling isn’t returned:
it prevents other families from hiring
it causes loss of earnings for the sling library
It causes me unnecessary frustration
I have to sacrifice time and energy chasing it up

❗️come on people just do the right thing, if you’ve got a hired sling that you know is due back or you’ve defaulted on payments just pop me a message and get it back!

✨And above all I’m actually a really nice human who understands when money is tight. We can sort it, just talk to me.
I also understand slings get lost and damaged, again I’m happy to discuss a solution.
And if you really love the sling and don’t want to return it we can always sort out a price for you to keep it.

🌊Practice makes progress (not perfect because that’s unrealistic)
🌊Yes we have finally got rid of the stabilisers on Tommys bike this week and are confidently on 2 wheels!
🌊It really helped having the littlest babe in the sling so that I had my hands free to prevent a crash landing! After getting to the park I placed her outward facing for a short while because she’s very inquisitive and wanted to thrash about with excitement watching her big brother and I was feeling a bit touched out by the constant pinching of her nails into my neck I must admit 😣
🌊I often say to anyone learning to wrap with a woven it’s a bit like learning to ride a bike, it’s not going to be perfect fist time but if you stick with it you’ll reap the rewards 😌 we’re working on our back carrying again and the little lady approves! She even fell asleep in the wrap when I put the washing out 😴

🌊It’s been a busy few weeks for us! 🌱Building a community garden with our home ed group, 🐑watching lambs being born at Felbrigg, 🌅attending a sunrise Easter service in the village, 🥪picnicking on the broads and 5 year old kiddo having a lurgy 😪

🌊I’ve been promising for ages that I’d do some videos and I’ve been waiting for quiet, calm, tidiness, the right light, set up etc. these were barriers I was putting in the way.
And you know what, if I wait for that time it will never come!
I had selective mutism for most of my childhood and it still gets me when I’m trying to do things like this. I made a promise to myself this year that I would find my voice.

🌊I’m real, my house is a mess, it’s never quiet and I don’t have a studio. If you want a perfect video there’s loads on YouTube but if you want something organic purely for entertainment from me to you at a dodgy angle here we go 😅

✨I know you’re all here because you love slings but…
🧷I don’t know who needs to hear this but if you’re in a pinch a couple of muslins will work as a really decent cloth nappy!

🧷So can I get a show of hands and a comment please if you use cloth nappies?
