The dashboard and door cappings from a Triumph Herald arrived today for restoration.

There's damage to the dashboard and door cappings which I will need to make good before I can re-veneer them.

I've set up my steam box as I need to bend two sections of oak moulding.

One is in the former today. Second one will be done tomorrow.

A small job arrived this week. Interior trim from a Jaguar XK8. As you can see, the lacquer has gone very milky over time.

So a careful removal of the lacquer, followed by new lacquer and a polish is in order.

I've assembled the bookcase for the first time! It absolutely dominates my workshop!

The pediment of the cornice is well on the way to completion.

Very pleased with the sunburst marquetry pattern I've made. The green man carving is not my work though.

A major update on the bookcase, and A LOT of photos.

The cornice for the bookcase is now constructed. A mammoth task in itself!

The reason I used the lower units, rather than the upper unots was purely for practicality. It's a much nicer height to work at.

I'm currently making the pediment for the cornice and will highlight that in another post.

I've made the first of the upper units for the library. A photo of my handsome self next to it gives a good idea of the size it's going to be!
