✨ New Casting by Timo Kube: Convex Mirrors in Cast Iron ✨

We are excited to showcase the latest work by renowned artist Timo Kube —a stunning convex mirror cast in cast iron. Known for pushing the boundaries of materiality and form, this latest piece adds another layer of depth to his ongoing exploration of reflective surfaces.

Previously, Timo has worked with a variety of metals including aluminium, zinc, and gunmetal, each bringing its own unique texture and finish to the mirror’s reflective qualities. But this new cast iron iteration introduces a rich, earthy tone and a sense of solidity that contrasts beautifully with the fluidity of the mirror’s reflection.

’Sprue – Table Chair’

We had the pleasure of working with .jksn on this thought provoking project. It is not something we have seen done before and it is definitely something we will incorporate in future projects.

This project explores process through the discarded elements of sand casting. Sprues and risers are used as visible junctions within the furniture, tracing the path of molten metal and preserving the sand’s imprint on the surface.

Maybrey Precision Castings on Salvage Hunters! 🔥

This Week, Maybrey Precision Castings was featured on Salvage Hunters: Georgian House Restoration! We had the privilege of castings a spindle for a stunning restoration project, showcasing our expertise in precision casting.

Bringing heritage pieces back to life is what we do best—combining traditional techniques with modern craftsmanship. A big thank you to the Salvage Hunters team for letting us be part of such a fantastic project!

✨ Bending the Rules of Metal – One Cast at a Time ✨

Maybrey Precision Castings is proud to have contributed to Alex Chinneck’s latest sculptural installation, featuring his signature knotted lampposts in Bristol. This ambitious project, located outside the Assembly Rooms near Temple Bridge, showcases the power of precision casting and engineering in contemporary street art.

Working alongside and Allwick Patterns Ltd, our team was responsible for casting the intricate knot components. These seamlessly twisting elements required advanced pattern-making, precision moulding, and high-quality casting techniques to ensure a flawless and structurally sound finish.

Maybrey Precision Castings, a proud member of the Caro Group of Companies, has won the prestigious Component of the Year at the Casting Industry Awards 2024. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

We had the privilege of working with MTArt Agency and the exceptionally talented artist Rayvenn Shaleigha D'Clark MA, FHEA, MRSS to bring the "Black Renaissance" sculptures to life. Commissioned by the Equal Justice Initiative, these sculptures were cast by our very own foundry then expertly polished and assembled by millimetre. They now proudly stand as part of the Freedom Memorial Sculpture Park in Alabama.

To achieve this, Maybrey Precision Castings produced 52 unique moulds and silicon bronze castings, using pioneering 3D scanning technology from voxeljet AG to create printed sand moulds. These were paired with a bespoke running system, designed by the team at Maybrey, to help create five incredible sculptures of up to 2.5m in height.

A huge thanks to everyone who has been a part of this. We are incredibly grateful to the The Cast Metals Federation, CMF for recognising the innovation and dedication that made this possible.
