After being evacuated due to a fire and running the business from a local village hall, yesterday turned out to be surprisingly productive.

As some of you may know, Honest-Inks Ltd is primarily a home-run business, operating from our Sutton Bonington and Harrogate home offices. Yesterday, however, was very different - and unexpected.

The day began with a visit to Tompkin Press Print & Display, where Claire Taylor of Craetionz Marketing helped design a new roller banner, while Jamie Parsons and Rich Tompkin quickly turned around both the banner and my business cards.

I’ll admit, I left it a bit late - I should have planned ahead! After all, I always tell customers not to wait until they run out of ink before ordering. Always have a spare cartridge ready - it’s a simple tip for keeping any business or home office running smoothly.

Everything was ready just in time for a fantastic evening event hosted by the Nottingham Charity Network. Claire Clements and Alison Marsh do an incredible job bringing this supportive community together.

I had the opportunity to speak about alternative ways of giving, and how we help charities raise funds through ink cartridge recycling. It’s something we’re passionate about - keeping cartridges out of landfill and returning them to reputable manufacturers for reuse.

We also heard inspiring talks from Adam Barnes and Nicola Ramsdale, along with a touching tribute from Claire in memory of Kevin Brown.

After some great conversations, we’re excited to collaborate and raise funds for several amazing charities. It was also great to connect with new contacts and catch up with familiar faces.

And to top it all off - I was allowed back into the house after the fire flared up again while I was out!
