After being evacuated due to a fire and running the business from a local village hall, yesterday ended up being a very productive day.
As some of you may know, and some of you may not, Honest-Inks Ltd is predominantly a home-run business, operating from our Sutton Bonington home office and our Harrogate home office.
Yesterday, however, was very different - and unexpected.
The day started with a visit to Tompkin Press Print & Display, where Claire Taylor of Craetionz Marketing helped me design the perfect roller banner. Whilst Jamie Parsons & Rich Tompkin kindly turned around my new business cards and roller banner in next to no time.
I’ll admit, I left it a bit late - I should have planned ahead! After all, I always tell my customers not to wait until they run out of ink befoer they place an order… always have a spare cartridge ready. It’s a great tip for the smooth running of any business or home office.
Everything was ready just in time for the fantastic event yesterday evening, hosted by the Nottingham Charity Network. Claire Clements and Alison Marsh do such a great job bringing this supportive network together.
We were given the opportunity to speak at the event about alternative ways of giving, and how we can help support charities by raising funds through ink cartridge recycling. It’s something we are deeply passionate about - we believe it’s vital to keep empty cartridges out of landfill and incineration, and get them back into the hands of reputable manufacturers so they can be reused.
We also heard some great talks from Adam Barnes ✍️ & Nicola Ramsdale, as well as a fitting tribute from Claire Clements in memory of Kevin Brown.
After some great conversations with Michael Conroy, Toni Jarvis 🐯, Star Wattam, Ingrid De Oliveira, Nicola Tewson, and Richard Daniels, we’re really looking forward to working together and raising money for My Sight Nottinghamshire, Tiger Community Enterprise CIC, Nottinghamshire Mind, Framework Charity, Walesby Forest, and Forever Stars.
Happy to chat with Colin Haughton 🐤 who connected with us on LinkedIn after the event to see if we can help Three Little Birds Charity and I am really excited about talking to Karen V. again in May..
Always great to see regualer friendly faces Eloise Idoine 👩🏼Aditi Bilakhia & Nick Mellors.
I'm pleased to say I was allowed back into my house after I got home from the event even though the fire had flared up again when I got home.
