Home Hideouts

Home Hideouts Your home is the mirror & the maker of
your life. Style it like you mean it.

™ Welcome to Home Hideouts!

I’m Jen, and this is the story of how I turned my passion for interiors into a brand that celebrates individuality and mindfulness. As I navigate life in London with my little pal, Peanut, I’ve discovered that creating a home is about much more than just décor - it’s about feeling at peace and nurturing our well-being. As a single, childless woman approaching 40, I faced the pressures of societal

expectations that eventually felt overwhelming. This experience taught me the importance of cultivating a space that inspires growth, self-acceptance, and authenticity. Establishing Home Hideouts has given me a newfound direction and passion in life. My mission is to empower others to transform their living spaces into unique sanctuaries that reflect their own journeys. At Home Hideouts, we curate furniture and décor that not only enhances your home but also supports your personal growth, whatever that means for you. Our brand is built on values of inspiration, support, and authenticity. We celebrate the uniqueness of every individual and foster a community where everyone can explore their own journey without judgment. We invite you to join us as we create mindful, inspiring spaces together. Let’s celebrate our individuality and support one another on this journey of self-discovery and transformation. Join our Facebook Community today to connect with like-minded individuals, share your story and find inspiration for your unique home and access mindfulness tips. We’ve been trained to believe that if we get the aesthetic right, everything else follows…

But a room can be beautiful
and still ask too much of you.

Because the real question isn’t:

“Does this look good?”

It’s:

“What does this space require from me?”

If it requires constant vigilance,
decision-making,
processing,
adjustment —

it won’t feel calm.

This is the difference between taste and regulation.

And once you see it, you can’t unsee it.

🖤 Homes That Make You, You.

03/02/2026

Sometimes it’s not home you’re avoiding.

It’s how it makes you feel the moment you walk in.

Most people don’t avoid places without a reason.

They avoid how those places land on them.
The noise.

The decisions waiting.
The unfinished signals.
The sense that nothing quite settles.

So staying out feels lighter —
not because home is wrong,
but because it’s holding more than it should.
That’s not failure.

That’s information.

Does this show up for you — or is it somewhere else entirely?

02/02/2026

You didn’t need a break.
You needed a different room…

It’s easy to assume we’re tired because we’ve done too much.
Or unfocused because we haven’t rested enough.

But sometimes what’s actually happening is simpler.

The space you’re in is asking more of you than you realise.
Too much input.
Too many signals.
Too much to hold at once.

So your system looks for relief —
not by stopping,
but by relocating.

That quiet urge to move rooms
isn’t avoidance.
It’s regulation.

Have you noticed certain rooms feel easier to be in than others?

We often expect our homes to quieten everything instantly.

But our bodies and minds don’t always move at the same speed as our days.

If your thoughts are still busy,
if it takes time to feel present,
that’s not failure — it’s transition.

Home isn’t here to stop momentum.
It’s here to hold it while it unwinds.

There are some points in the year that quietly increase what a home is responsible for. December is one of them.

Not through mess — through added functions…

The room adjusts without being rearranged.

And the experience of just being there changes first.

It’s not clutter. It’s just function overload. Remember it’s not anything you’re doing wrong, give yourself a break. 🩷

✨ Why Your Home Might Be the Missing Link in Mental Health Awareness ✨

This October, we’re reminded to check in with our minds and with each other—but what about our environments?

Your home isn’t just a backdrop. It’s an active daily participant in your wellbeing.

- Clutter can spike anxiety.
- Light and colour can shift your energy.
- Small styling changes can nurture calm.

This month, check in with your home as well as yourself. Does your space work for you—or against you?

If you’ve ever stood in your kitchen after a long day and felt like the mess on the counters was the final straw… you’re not alone!

Here’s the truth: it’s not just about the mess.
It’s about the story your brain is subconsciously looping in the background:
👉 “I can’t keep up.”
👉 “I’m failing at life.”
👉 “One more thing will break me.”

And that same loop shows up everywhere else too — snapping at the people you love, avoiding simple decisions, and carrying the weight of constant overwhelm.

💡 Neuroscience tells us your brain sees every unfinished task as an “open loop.”

Too many open loops = cognitive overload.

That’s why you feel like one more demand will tip you over the edge.

The good news?
Old loops can be rewired.
And the second you know how, everything changes.

✨ That’s exactly what I’ll give you inside The Home Reset Protocol — my free step-by-step guide to closing loops, calming overwhelm, and finally feeling in control again.

💬 Comment CHANGE below and I’ll send it straight to you.

Because you don’t need a perfect kitchen to feel calm. You just need the right reset.

Feeling overwhelmed?
Try this: don’t just decorate—create a space your body recognises as safe.
Repeat the same ritual in the same place.

Why?
Your brain starts to associate that area with safety.
No effort. No overthinking. Just calm on cue.

In this post, we’re breaking down the science behind calm corners—
From habit loops to breathwork, anchoring to decision fatigue.

Because your space isn’t just where you live.
It’s where your nervous system is deciding whether you feel safe… or stuck.

Your home can literally train your brain to relax on autopilot.

And no—it doesn’t need to be Pinterest-perfect.
It just needs to feel like your reset button.
