This is a little box I made in olive ash. The entire construction is of solid wood, including the walnut peg hinges.

The dovetail joints are hand sawed. The lip of the lid is shaped with a spoke shave and the back edge is rounded over with a hand plane.

I thoroughly enjoyed making this box.

Last week I finished this six-seater trestle style dining table. It’s made from a London plane tree felled in Essex. I designed it to dismantle so that it could get up the stairs and around the tight corridor bend into our flat.
