📚 *70-Year-Old Sells 45,000-Comic Collection for £250k+* 📚
Peter Hansen of Northumberland is parting with his lifelong British comics collection after 60 years. Two auctions have already brought in *over £250,000*.
Hansen started collecting in 1960s Byker, Newcastle, renting out issues to friends to buy more. His 45,000-item haul includes _The Beano, The Dandy, The Beezer, The Topper_, plus original artwork and toys.
Top sale so far: Simon Bisley’s cover art for _ABC Warriors Book 4: Genocide_ fetched *£35,560*. A Brian Bolland _Camelot 3000_ piece made £8,890.
The collection was so respected he loaned pieces to the Cartoon Museum and National Centre for Children’s Books.
Hansen, 70, is moving back to Canada and selling most of his UK archive through Excalibur Auctions and Anderson & Garland. Parts 2 and 3 go under the hammer 20 June and 8 July. He’s keeping first editions of _The Beano_ and _2000 AD_.
