The history of Ceccotti Collezioni finds its origins from the foundation, in 1956, of Ceccotti Aviero. The company, established as a manufacturer of home furnishings and subsequently affirmed in hotel supplies, has collaborated with the most prestigious international chains, such as Trusthouse Forte in London, Sheraton and Ciga, giving international breath to an activity based on the great artisan
tradition of Cascina, a small Tuscan town situated between Florence and Pisa. The training of the skilled workers of the company was, in fact, based on artisan craftsmanship in the field of wood furnishings and woodworking thanks to a prestigious Art School that shaped designers and specialized carpenters. The company's journey continues inspired by countless collaborations which determined its development and growth. In 1986 the famous Italian architect, theoretician of the "post modern" project, Paolo Portoghesi, will contribute to the idea of some of the most prestigious and recognizable historical pieces of production; but it will only be in 1988 that contemporary design becomes a concrete production theme with the birth of Ceccotti Collezioni. It was thanks to a courageous insight of Franco Ceccotti and designer pisano Roberto Lazzeroni that the craftsmanship of the company has opened to the critical reflection of contemporary design research, starting with the first collection "Dedos Tenidos". The experimentation of new forms and materials influenced by the eclectic and surrealistic world of Gaudì, Mollino and Scandinavian design in the 50s, giving rise to objects from organic, anthropomorphic, where curves of soft sensuality come together with shaking profiles. Ceccotti Collezioni is a uniquely recognized company around the world in the field of interior design and this is thanks to its ability to create authorships unique in their originality and complexity of their realization; a design that without the ostentation of industrial geometries but also without frivolous aesthetics, aims to bring objects back to a tradition, a story. In the years Franco Ceccotti has worked with passion for a project of coordination and research that united his aesthetic and intellectual inclinations, the manual tradition of his company and the different stylistic impressions of the designers who collaborated with him to create a dialogue with cultures of various parts of the world, trying to model their projects on the Ceccotti shapes. Yuni Ahn, Francesco Maria Andrenelli, Todd Bracher, Oscar and Gabriele Buratti, Massimo Castagna, Jeannot Cerutti, Vincenzo De Cotiis, Andrè Dubreuil, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, Jaime Hayon, Roberto Lazzeroni, Ross Lovegrove, Pedro Miralles, Christophe Pillet, Fabrizia Scassellati , Yamo, are the names of the designers who have been measuring this craft tradition since 1988. Ceccotti Collezioni has demonstrated the character and qualities of a company that has never denied its intimate vocation to luxury craftsmanship, but has been able to translate it into new contemporary interpretations through products that, in the virtual era, deny representation and they claim a tactile, fully sensual relationship. Oscar and Gabriele Buratti, Massimo Castagna, Jeannot Cerutti, Vincenzo De Cotiis, Andrè Dubreuil, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, Jaime Hayon, Roberto Lazzeroni, Ross Lovegrove, Pedro Miralles, Christophe Pillet, Fabrizia Scassellati and Yamo are the designers '88 to date have been measured with this handicraft tradition.
