That shiny, glossy, perfection of a beautiful wood grain really can be something that really can take a hold of you.

I think I’ve done maybe 1, max 2, fully stained pieces ever since I’ve been refinishing. It’s just not been my usual finishing style - even though I really do like what others do with their pieces.
I had an end goal in mind for this 4 piece bedroom set but the moment the grain unearthed itself I just couldn’t bring myself to covering it up. A slightly darker tone was in this dressers future.

Genuinely keen to receive feedback on the outcome as it stands so far.
There are still bits of finishing to come over the next day or 2 - and it’s not staged of course - but always happy to receive constructive feedback.
Oh. This is piece 1 of 4. 5, if we count the mirror. I’m still not sure if I’ll finish the entire set in the same finishing style, or not. Suppose that will be dictated by the person that wants to buy it :-)

Is tinting bondo (builders bog) really a thing? Will it work? Will it fail miserably? I had no idea before trying this but watch till the end to see the outcome on this stained dresser. (Spoilers - I’m really happy!).

How it all began. An even better paint stripping outcome for layer 1
Let’s see what’s under this potential .
Some fantastic paint bubbling to see.
