We design and upholster bespoke artistic headboards which we create together with the client. Apero with friends at their beautiful home near Bandol. A feast for the senses. Unusual interiors for the South of France, most were pieces bought by her great grandfather in Egypt in the mid nineteenth century. All so brilliantly arranged, displayed, enjoyed and used, perhaps not for all tastes, personally I was in heaven!

Mistakes occasionally happen, this particular outdoor bench box cushion was originally made to the wrong size due to a misunderstanding when my client said that particular bench was the same size as the one in the orchard however I hadn’t realised there were 2 different orchards and so noted incorrect dimensions rather than walk up with with my trusty measuring tape and notepad. Result being a cushion miss-fit! However, in the spirit of lemons to lemonade we set to and designed and made a “three in one” box cushion surround for the bench which fits of so perfectly and adds extra comfort and I think looks fantastic! Particularly with enjoying an aperitif before lunch.

The wonderful thing about a rainy day on hols is having all the time to take a deep dive into a good book. In the S of France and Corsica they often refer to “l’orage du 15 août” and this morning it arrived right on schedule. Normally I lazily flick through large coffee table hardbacks but this glorious book by Celia Forner I’m relishing every word and detail. ☔️ ***ir

A few shots from a memorable night last weekend where I’d the huge privilege of living the life of a travelling circus behind the scenes and stages at the Trailer Park Stage! An emotional evening as my mother the same evening suffered a seizure when she was unresponsive for 90 minutes. Within those moments I explored every single possibility of getting back to Ireland where she was but it became obvious that the next possible flight was the next morning. As night fell she regained consciousness and before long was chatting with my wonderful cousin Orlagh who rushed to be by her side.

So happy to have this beautiful headboard hanging before the summer break. Lovely client fell for this fabric (headboard fabric) designed be .deruelle for and sold by when I suggested it as a complimentary one for her initial choice. I was thrilled to rework the scheme accordingly. We brought in a Colefax weave and a screen print for the cushions, valance, not in this shot is a plain green with a coral linen inserts. The walls are calamine by . Will follow with a few more shots another day. The curtains and blind with pelmets (shots to follow) were designed and made by . This lovely room has been transformed, the proportions and shapes and colours all work so well together. Thank you my lovely client for hunting me down rocking up to my studio a few short months ago. Thanks for the giggles and the chats and above all for giving a long rein and running with the plan. And a massive thank you to my very cool and very talented machinist and of course Georges, son #1 who helped at many junctures.
