Jo Gregory
I started my business in 2013, working around my children from my kitchen table on a little domestic Singer sewing machine. In 2015 I decided I would like to train part time in Stirling and Fife whilst continuing my business and after 3 years was presented with my Diploma in Upholstery from the AMUSF.
My business deals with all types of upholstery from boat and caravan cushions to beloved family chairs and chaise lounges, I have even been known to reupholster the inside of an antique wardrobe! I also make bespoke curtains, cushions and blinds to client’s own specifications.
In the years since my kitchen table business I have progressed from there to a tiny workshop behind my house and I am now embarking on a new adventure with my friend and jeweller @LucyJaneWalsh. We have set up a shared workshop space in our local village hall where we work along side each other and offer another space for other creatives and small businesses to come and use. I have also evolved from my domestic Singer to 3 hulking great industrial machines, although my kids still use my old Singer to make their own projects!
