I was going to do a snazzy post for these crème de la crème windows, but my suppliers beat me to it! Big thanks to Ste for sorting it, a smooth operator if I ever saw one and master of backhanded compliments.

We've thoroughly enjoyed fitting these beauties for K&D as always! Thanks for looking after us ❤️ I'll be proud to tell the kids "I fitted those" every time we drive past!

There'll be more pics once the interior carpentry and joinery are finished but for now, I'll sleep well knowing I don't have climb any ladders for the umpteenth time tomorrow.

It's a well known fact that all of my incredible customers tend to have exceptional taste and K & D's house doesn't stop! It's like going back in time but without the draughts, lead paint and creaky floorboards, there's even a digital kettle so I know my coffee is 95° Unreal!

The old windows were handmade by K's Dad and the saws and chisels treated them with the utmost respect when removing but you can't get in the way of progress.

Half the battle with sliding sashes is knowing that measuring is crucial and that they require an interior rebuild - for the better. Taking the windows back to how they were a century ago when the exceptional Welsh builders worked their magic albeit with modern, resilient materials.

We even created a new shuttered concrete cill to match the original sandstone ones. There's nothing better than having a nice open working space, a 95° cuppa, Radio 6, all your timber, quality mouldings and just being able to create stunning projects like this.

R & S - two loyal and highly esteemed customers came at me with a crusty old timber hallway door which was letting the cold in from the porch which also had a crusty UPVC door - they knew they were crusty but kids cost an arm and a leg you know and they tend to take priority. But the time came to swap them out and now it's sorted!

They wanted a warm, maintenance free hall door with enhanced privacy and a contemporary feel to it....satin glass does all that for you. Then they only went and picked the best looking composite in the close. Well in guys! You'll have to turn that rad down in the hall now 😅

Been a quiet start to 2026, for me anyway - so thought I'd share some completed projects.

The lovely Lyns got in touch with me as she's about to have half of her house knocked down and extended. She envisaged her lounge becoming a haven, away from the drilling, banging and all that malarkey.

So I stepped in, measured up, visualised it, then put it into practice. The plasterer I use did a spot on job as usual, finishing the walls for the panelling and shelves which turned out bussin' as the kids say.

Been an absolute pleasure doing the wainscoting, skirts, architraves and glazed door for one of my favourite customers. She'd always wanted to transform her hallway and landing from being plain with no character into a space that had the wow factor as soon as you opened the front door. Safe to say - it definitely has it now!

Made us some absolutely boss cakes too! ☕🍰

It's not often I like to sing my own praises but this is up there. I've always complained about doing bathrooms, up and down stairs, WC out of commission, nowhere to put anything, tightrope walking over joists - the list is endless, but I could envisage what it'd be like and we got on with it.

The technical side was a job in itself and that's before we'd even thought of fittings with minimum margins for error. But as a team we battered it, we did absolutely everything (except fabricate the stunning oak basin unit)

Two of my favourite customers and great friends who thoroughly deserve this oasis. I still enjoy looking back at the pictures and hope they enjoy it for a very, very long time too.

Customer spotted these acoustic panels in Taskers and had seen a similar idea in Good Homes magazine. Asked if I could work my magic whilst doing some internal doors. I wasn't convinced they'd be as workable as they are... but with a bit of Oak veneered MDF, some cutting and ironing and a splash of Osmo wax-oil - the leccy cupboard went from crusty to cushty!

A long-standing customer who'd used a recommendation from Howdens as I was busy, approached me with a space behind her front door which had been filled in with a bi-fold door and some bits of timber the previous Joiner must have had in the back of his van.
We wanted to box the electrics in with a shelved unit then create some lit hanging space as it was pretty dark in there. Also, a shelf for some classy storage boxes and a plant or two. We left the right hand side free for some key boxes/pin board etc. Keeping the classic design in tune with the property which was on Allerton Priory estate (late 1800's), turned out better than the visualisations.
