Some old Queen or other

You are viewing an original antique oil painting of Queen Victoria,

I have tried to photograph as much as possible, including the damage.

It has a bit of tape on the back of one small hole and there is another hole which has nothing over.

It’s cracked and has losses of paint here and there and also as you can see damage to her face.

All that said she is a stunning piece and a good size.

She comes in an lovely old oak frame with a brass crown on the top.

Measurements are ...In frame 72.5 x 85 cm’s

And without frame 64x77 cm’s

Frame is 4.5 cm’s deep

Lots of changes taking place, all good though!
A change of name is one of them.
I will still be bringing you a good mix of antiques/vintage furniture and decorative items, plus a few of my own creations, and anything I find interesting and a little unusual and hopefully you will too.

In the year 1920 a young boy was out walking near Freiburg in the Black Forest region in Germany, when he stumbled upon an odd looking tree, it’s roots lay upon the damp earth and were all visible as if it had somehow just landed in this spot!

The branches no longer covered in leaves, even though it was summer time, but instead in there place were heavy blankets of Usnea otherwise known as “old mans beard” through which he caught sight of this mysterious find.

The Fairy Co**se

The above of course is a made up story and the item is man made!
Or is it ........

The fairy sits in an antique glass dome with a black recently made base,‘this was made from an old pitch pine plank.

The floor covering is a man made grass used in model railways etc, with a little tree moss found in the garden.

A couple of projects I’m working on at the moment.
Firstly Mounting this old wooden fairground head... I have a nice chunk of oak lying around so may use that.
Also getting this lovely old Camerer cuss & co clock working again, I can’t quite make out the rest of the inscription on the face! Any ideas ?
It may have to have a modern movement, but will still totally look the part once minimal restoration has been carried out.
