𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗲𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴

When designing bespoke refrigeration for the home, Weald Refrigeration understands that performance and sophistication is only part of the brief. Unlike wine coolers installed in hospitality workspaces or dedicated cellars, refrigeration in everyday living spaces needs to be quieter and more discrete.

Taking this into consideration, our team of engineers at Weald Refrigeration have developed a “Q” (Quiet) range of wine cabinets. These units feature static condensers, which significantly reduce their operational noise. With a much quieter background ‘hum’, these wine coolers are particularly well suited to domestic environments and private entertainment spaces.

Our latest project was an excellent example of how quiet, custom refrigeration can transform a home. Personalised for our client, George Mosley, we adapted our Special PR1001Q model from the Q Range. In order to blend seamlessly into Mr. Mosley’s chosen location, the wine cooler was finished in Black Prisma Coated Steel. To achieve the required storage capacity, the unit was manufactured to a custom height and depth with specially-developed shelves, increasing storage potential beyond our standard configurations. As a result, the cabinet can accommodate 340 standard 75cl bottles, an extremely respectable wine collection!

For many of Weald Refrigeration’s domestic clients, a bespoke wine cooler is about far more than storage. Whether integrated into a kitchen, wine room, or private bar, each wine cabinet is designed to enhance the space around it, allowing our clients to bring their interior design plans to life.

Custom refrigeration equipment offers clear advantages over mass-produced alternatives. Unlike off-the-shelf domestic fridges and wine coolers, our bespoke equivalent can be fully customisable with precise temperature control, exact dimensions and personalised aesthetic design, including specialist finishes both inside and out. The result is a wine cabinet that is designed specifically for the client and feels entirely their own.

Recently, we completed a domestic installation for a private, high-profile client. The model that we tailored for the project was the dual temperature Special PR1001X, finished in the client’s choice of Rimex Onyx T22 Black Mirror. The Special PR1001X is a timeless and elegant cabinet that is at home with most styles of interior design. This is why it is often favoured by our domestic clients. From this blueprint, Weald Refrigeration designed a wine cooler that was entirely bespoke in terms of dimensions and finish.

Stepping inside an Amazónico restaurant immediately transports you to another world. Its vibrant spirit, world-class hospitality and jungle-inspired interior combine to create an experience that feels more like an adventure than fine dining. The restaurant offers a blend of Latin American and tropical cuisines, celebrating Amazonian culture and the beauty of Earth’s rainforests.

Back in 2018, Weald Refrigeration were approached by D.ream International to manufacture a set of bespoke wine coolers for Amazónico London. Our refrigeration equipment has been in constant service since the restaurant’s opening, proof that our engineering truly stands the test of time.

This autumn, Amazónico is preparing to open the doors to an awe-inspiring new restaurant in Miami. We are honoured to have been chosen once again to supply their new venue with specially designed wine cabinets, the continuation of a partnership that now extends across the Atlantic Ocean. Miami’s Amazónico promises the same energy and glamour as its Mayfair counterpart, an atmosphere that was carefully considered in the design of our bespoke refrigeration equipment. Featuring intricate wooden details and golden tinted glass, our wine coolers quite literally glow. They ensure that every bottle, from crisp whites to bold reds, is stored at the perfect temperature in a system built to last.

We have recently shipped these wine coolers from our East Sussex factory to the Miami site, where they are soon to be installed seamlessly into the restaurant’s bar. The specifications of the wine cabinets were modified from our Special Prestige Range PR1201 ‘No Overhang’ model and the beautiful doors were supplied by the client’s joiner to be fitted directly onto the units.

To keep your wine cabinet or bottle cooler running well into the future, we can offer a range of spares and refurbishment services.

We recently received this 12 year old unit back from a client.

Firstly, we upgraded the outdated R134a system to accommodate a new energy efficient refrigerant, R600a. The LEDs were also changed to a much lower wattage (4.8w per m).
The controller and probes were replaced, as was the old chrome lockable latch and the door seal.
Finally, the unit was thoroughly cleaned before being sent back to the client, along with a full 6 month parts and labour warranty.

All of this work was done for 1/3 of the price of a new unit to this specification.
This wine cooler is now ready to last its owner another 12 years, an outcome that is better for their pocket as well as the planet.
