Taylor Swift delighted her fans in Cardiff by greeting them in Welsh at the start of her highly-anticipated Eras Tour concert on Tuesday night. The 34-year-old pop superstar kicked off her show at the sold-out Principality Stadium with hit songs like "Cruel Summer," before attempting to speak in the Welsh language. "Shwmae," Swift said to the roaring crowd of nearly 70,000 fans, which means "hello" in Welsh. She then added, "Croeso i daith Eras," welcoming them to the Eras Tour. Expressing her excitement, Swift remarked, "This is my very first time getting to play a show in Wales and look at this. You've got 67,000 people in here, this is ridiculous. Thank you Cardiff." The Cardiff concert was a unique stop on Swift's record-breaking $2 billion Eras Tour, as it was the only city where she performed just one show out of the 152 shows on the 21-month-long tour. The show attracted fans from a wider catchment area than most Principality Stadium events, leading to warnings about heavy traffic on the M4 motorway.
