ICCE launches new Winning Well SIG

The new Winning Well and Coaching Practices Special Interest Group brings together researchers, coach developers and practitioners to explore how coaching can support performance and athlete wellbeing.

The group will examine psychological safety, positive relationships and what it means to “win well”, while developing practical resources and research ahead of the 2027 Global Coach Conference in New Zealand.

The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) is the umbrella organisation of German sport, representing organised sport in Germany and serving as the National Olympic Committee for Germany. With 103 member organisations representing 29.3 million memberships across around 86,000 sports clubs and 139 sports, the DOSB supports both grassroots and high-performance sport and works to strengthen sport’s contribution to society.

The National Center for Coach Training (CNFPA) is an organisation responsible for the training, development and professional recognition of coaches and other sports specialists in Romania. The Finnish Coaches Association is a national organisation dedicated to promoting sports coaching and supporting coaches across Finland. The Professional Ski Instructors of Europe (PSIE) is bringing a fresh perspective to the education and certification of ski instructors across the European snow sports industry and beyond. Established in 2024, PSIE provides training, education and certification designed to support instructors in creating fun, safe and effective learning experiences.

More than 400 children, coaches and basketball educators came together in Comoros for the 2026 African Mini Basketball Convention, celebrating the role of grassroots basketball in youth development across Africa.

Organised by FIBA Africa and the FIBA Foundation, the four-day event featured coaching clinics, educational workshops and fun on-court activities designed to introduce children to basketball while equipping coaches with modern teaching methods.

The 10th cohort of the NSSU Coach Developer Academy has successfully completed the first of its two residential learning weeks in Tokyo! 🌏

Over seven intensive days, 12 coach developers from nine countries came together to strengthen their coach development and system-building skills, while learning, collaborating, and sharing ideas in a unique global learning laboratory.

The International Council for Coaching Excellence is proud to collaborate with Nippon Sport Science University in delivering this outstanding program, which continues to build coach development capacity around the world.

Originally launched through Japan's Sport for Tomorrow Olympic and Paralympic legacy programme, the NCDA is now made possible with the support of IOC Olympic Solidarity.
