A bespoke pair of hand-sewn, interlined Roman blinds featuring the stunning Lodhi velvet by .

My lovely client was after a scenic window, and this fabric truly delivered. I love the numerous tiny details, such as the little pink boat and the mandala dots on the plants, that make this design so special.

Working with such amazing textiles is a true privilege. Fabrics will always be my guilty pleasure 😊.

Wasn’t going to share this until I had photos from my client in situ because I am not the strongest with a camera and my staging options are pretty limited when everything I make is bespoke. These pieces are created for their new home and shaped to my clients needs so I always hope to show them where they belong. But I can’t always rely on getting those photos back.

So here it is. Kami velvet in indigo from . Feather wrapped foam inners with channels for low maintenance comfort. Pattern placement chosen with care. Built to last and made with intention.

Pelmets are such a beautiful finishing touch to window treatments. Honestly, a blind with no pelmet feels like a face with no eyebrows — it works, but it’s missing that definition.

Here’s how I make plush upholstered pelmets, the way I’d want them in my own home:

✨ I start with two layers of Essex board.
It’s lightweight, so if your walls can’t take the weight of ply, this is perfect. Doubling up gives a lovely depth and gives the staples something to bite into.

✨ Once bonded, I secure the layers with duct tape.
It’s an extra precaution, but it means those layers are going nowhere.

✨ Next comes a generous layer of wadding.
You never see it, but it’s the real hero behind that soft, slightly domed, plush look.

✨ Then I add a domette interlining.
It adds body and smooths everything out before the final fabric goes on.

✨ And finally, the face fabric is upholstered over the top.
This is where the magic shows.

Not everything is made equally. These layers are intentional — they’re what give my pelmets their structure, softness, and premium finish.
