Last month was busy!

215% increase in sales from the previous month and a high gross margin.

A couple of big sales from items salvaged at the Quaker Tapestry helped things along.

Numismatics was where it all started for me in 2013. Collecting the London 2012 Olympic 50p’s. I haven’t got this one so grabbed it at Kendal Flea Market.

The bloke selling offered it to me for a fiver because I’d bought a few other things. Told me I could just spend it. Technically he’s right, but it’s unlikely shops would accept it and even banks would be hesitant.

I will be keeping it in my collection, but if I was to let it go it would fetch ~£30 to a collector even without the box and COA, or if that failed, depending on silver prices you could get £15-20 melt value for the 26g it contains. A steal for a fiver.

The first Kendal Flea Market at the Parish Church.

9am start and a good 2 hours spent rummaging. I ran out of cash so had to down tools and wander to town to the closest cash point.

Such good fun and so many great finds. It baffles and intrigues me in equal measures how all the different items end up there. A mid-century Moss Bros shoe stretcher from Covent Garden, for example. What journey has that object been on to wind up on a table top in Kendal Parish Church 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ll be listing a selection of these items soon and keeping some of them back for other reasons that I’ll hopefully be able to share in the near future 👀

I’ve picked out my favourite 5

👞 Mid-century Moss Bros shoe stretcher
🪞 Coca-Cola reproduction mirror
🍺 Guinness stout bottle
🎶 His Master's Voice enamel sign
🪙 Coca-Cola cast iron money box (still working out its age)

EXCITING NEWS 🗞️

Last week I did my first clearance. Sadly, the Quaker Tapestry in Kendal has closed its doors after just shy of 30 years.

The Georgian building was purpose built in 1816 to host meetings which were previously held in private homes.

Due to the unexpected closure, announced on the 18th November, as many items as possible needed salvaging to avoid being disposed of.

Thankfully, the wonderful staff there were keen to support the push to save and reuse as much as they could.

2️⃣ van loads and 1️⃣ full car later, I now have a garage full of stock I’m sorting through from lighting to fabric, signage to books, and a plethora of things I didn’t expect to find.

Watch this space as I start to list items on Facebook Marketplace, Vinted and ebay 🔎

One of my favourite finds to date. Plans for it to be framed and put on the wall, but it's enormous!

A perfect example of resisting temptation to keep an item I've bought to sell.

The Beatles Anthology (first edition) in great condition. Dust cover still intact with only slight wear on one corner. The band's story in their words.

I bought this for £9.99 because I knew it would be valuable. £35 when it was first released and worth between £70-90 now. Best place to sell will be eBay a Beatles collector/fan site.

Would you keep it? 🔎

MATCH DAY! ⚽

Despite the distraction of another superb performance, I was still on the lookout for bargains and stumbled on these ace Leeds towel ponchos perfect for holidays.

£25 brand new and down to a fiver each so I bought the last four of them to stick on Vinted. Sold within a day making £15 profit in the process 💛🤍💙

Another footy find. The programme from Man United’s 1-1 draw with Leeds.

Football memorabilia is a huge market for collectors, and like pin badges many people keep libraries of programmes going back decades.

This had more appeal than others given the fixture, Ronaldo on the front cover, and the fact it was his first season in the Premier League.

I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for similar ones in the future ⚽️
