In the varied life of our saw this afternoons project was a Circle quadrant for a clients garden, cut from their supplied paving slab. We can cut / supply circle quadrants, circle sets and full circles up to 5foot!! perfect for patios, hearths, plaques and new grindstone style signs in slate and other stones.

A full deep clean of beetham war memorial conducted recently, very pleased with how clean this has come up. Lichen and algae can be very hard to remove from sandstone as it gets deep into its granular structure and even stains the stone in some cases! The best way to prevent irreversible staining is an annual or by-annual soft clean removing any growth before it gets ahold. Two rustic greenslate monoliths coming through the workshop at the moment, really nice material that stands the test of time. Made from the fells to look like the fells.

Some beautiful green slate this particular piece comes from a now inactive quarry. Spout Cragg in the langdale valley was quarried for years due to its attractive markings and colour. The quarry didn’t have their own saw and all the quarried clogg was transported to near by quarry elterwater and sometimes broughton moor to be slabbed and processed.
