I was privileged to be asked to make this completely bespoke keepsake box with “0” carving for “Olivia”. Solid oak. It was a real test of skill to produce this box as I even made the brass key hole and the leather lid stay and put in the felt lining. So pretty chuffed ! Wanted to keep this myself 😂 The paint colours to the 0 were provided by my very steady handed friend Helen.

Oak trusses , made for a little cottage extension. Air dried oak to minimise movement.

A pleasure doing some oar servicing for . Wood repairs to major splits and chunks missing , a full sand all over followed by 3 coats of PU base coat and 2 x topcoats.

Big frame made 💪 so here was the two days of fitting down on site . A tricky old task. The photos make it look quick ! But there was a lot of planning and preparation. The best part ?! I only had to lower the frame ONCE to cut the recesses for the stainless steel side tabs to clear the plaster … WIN ! (Honestly if you’re a trade or craft you’d know it’d be more likely to prepare to offer it up several times 😂 esp a one off like this.!)

Back in early June, I made and fitted this whole new replacement window & door set to match the existing pool house doors. Making the curved top window involved a good chunk of setting-out and tricky cuts to produce the curved glazing bars and frame.

The cliff cabin I’ve been working on is now available for bookings. It has been a lot of hard work with a mind-boggling amount of detailed design work - followed by a HUGE effort to work on. such a demanding , difficult to reach location for me to take tools and deliver joinery… But - perfect for guests 😍! I’ve been so lucky to enjoy this challenge and work with Phil the client who has been so thoughtful and caring. When on Unique Home Stays website - look for the cabin called “Suki” bath

Restored writing slope. 1/Modified reclaimed brass hinges fitted to lid( as none were present)2/veneer repairs to top 3/mother of Pearl repairs 4/ adding 6 new pieces of silver inlay in areas of loss 5/ made new ribbon pull 6/ full clean back and re coat.

Previously restored this full size billiard table. A complete overhaul , it was pretty wrecked. Comprehensive wood work restoration with many new pieces made to match from sapele including many turned pieces. The cushion rubbers , (original!) were completely perished as they were natural rubber. The table lift gearing seized for decades. A true labour of love with many hours to restore and to re cloth. But the results speak for themselves ☺️
