ANNOUNCEMENT- Our final ever Kitchen Helpers were dispatched last week to their new homes.

Our kitchen helper which we nicknamed the Kitchen Superhero, was our first ever product we started in lockdown. It helped us grow into the business we are today, so it is a bitter sweet moment for us to finally stop making it, especially as ours boys still use theirs daily, so we know how useful they are !

The reason we have taken this decision is that since lockdown our business has gradually changed direction and we are now spending more and more time focusing on our made to measure stair gates. We feel this is therefore the right time to focus entirely on stair gates going forward. We plan shortly to rebrand, so watch this space for a new name in the coming months and the exciting new chapter for us.

Our oak stair gate is finished with two coats of Danish Oil which not only brings out the colour of the oak it also protects the wood. We are still surprised what a contrast there is before and after the oil Is applied.

We fitted this bespoke stair gate with pin lock, to safely secure the stairs which would enable an elderly lady with dementia to return home from a period in a care home, without the risk of her using the stairs unattended.

The great thing about doing this job is not only creating furniture, it's having the flexibility to be around the family more. It's been great having the time to take my son to school this year and see him really grow in confidence. It really does pay to have a good work /life balance, you don't get this time back!

We add two coats of Danish oil to our oak stair gates as it brings out the colour of the oak. Look at the difference!
