Weather looking rainy and windy tomorrow Thursday - if you're planning to come on down to popup carols there is a back up plan - we can always move to the Jackson Hall next door if the rain hasn't stopped and it is too windy. See you tomorrow I hope!

Pound Close today. Dog mess inside the playground area. Broken glass scattered on the ground in the top corner by Stanstead Road. This park needs to be a safe place for children and animals and this afternoon it wasn't. I'm not a dog owner so carried nothing with me to bag up what was there. I was taking children down there to play. We collected the glass and put it to one side.

If you see people being anti social take a picture and put the word out. Rye Park deserves better

Thankyou everyone who came to our 10th Popup Carols on Pound Close last night. The slight drizzle didn't stop us making a joyful noise and it was great to see so many familiar faces. As well as all those who joined us for the first time! See you next year and Happy Christmas 2024!

So pop up carols is happening Thursday 21st (tomorrow) at 7pm. Its a community activity so if you are local come on down and join in.

If you can't make it at that time and would like to do something Christmassy on Pound Close then you can use the virtual pop up carols set up in 2020 when we were locked down and not allowed to meet. It has been made switched on again. Download the app EchoesXYZ to your phone and look for the audio walk on Pound Close - you can do pop up carols with your phone and a headset. We will leave it on until after Christmas day.

OK for the second year running there is a virtual pop up carols walk for those who couldn't make it last Thursday or are worried about gathering in groups. Download the free EchoesXYZ app on your smartphone and fire it up and look for walks near me. Pop up Carols on Pound Close should be visible if you are in Hoddesdon. Put on your headphones and choose the Pop up Carols walk.

The walk starts at the car park by Stansted road. Start to stream the walk and follow the spoken instructions. You can hear a choir from St Cuthberts and contributions from local ministers. Walk around Pound Close and you can listen to the whole thing. Great activity for when you are walking the dog!

We will leave the walk live until Christmas day. There are other walks to enjoy around Hoddesdon as well featuring music or local history. Why not explore and get some exercise while you're doing it?
