Today we welcomed in Grace Church ⛪️ who gave us a service of hymns and prayer. Many residents attended and always look forward to them coming in 😊.

This afternoon some of our residents wanted to do a wordsearch and maze puzzles, and some of us did a puzzle together. Whilst chatting and laughing mainly at charlie trying to do different accents 🤣😂

This afternoon at Oakwood Court was reminiscense about tbe households residents grew up in, in particular about the domestic routines and the neighbourhood. There were lots of household items
to explore and pictures to look at. Residents recalled family chores and
friendships with neighbours.
Maureen remembered being bored using her mothers mangle to rinse out the washing and jumping out of her skin
to find a frog hiding underneath!

🌍✨ Welcoming June at Oakwood Court! ✨🌍

Our Armchair Travel destination this Saturday will be the USA, where residents can enjoy themed activities, tasty treats, and learn all about American culture. 🧳
We are also delighted to welcome Grace Church on Wednesday morning for a lovely time of togetherness and reflection.
Alongside this, we have plenty of games, puzzles, and relaxing activities planned throughout the week. Something for everyone to enjoy at their own pace.

Today we engaged in a variety of puzzles, wordsearchs, and a quiz show.

They tried really hard to find all the words in our weather phenomena wordsearch 🌤🌧🌪. Janice said 'it helps keep my mind going' 💪

We watched a quiz show on tv which residents also really engaged with and had afew chuckles along the way 😂👏

We also enjoyed an ice lolly as its still very warm 🍭

Oakwood Airways took residents to Russia this morning during their Armchair travel activity ✈️🇷🇺🪆
It was a really interesting and very sensory trip. Regional music was listened too, food and drink of the country was tasted and
sights were looked at during the session.

With slightly cooler temperatures this morning, residents enjoyed a very lively game of balloon tennis 🎈🎾
There were some great volleys, many opportunities to stretch and flex the upper body, lots of laughs at some of the positions Janice was getting into to hit the balloon, and plenty of cold drinks to keep everyone hydrated 🎈🎾💪😂🚰

Residents engaged really well around the theme of reminiscense and gardening. Looking at trowels, hosepipes and other objects sparked memories of working in their own gardens or growing up with gardeners as parents. Michael shared his love of his allotment and what he used to grow there. David talked about his father who used to lovingly look after a bowling green and the essential role of the lawnmower and hose.
