We are a husband and wife team; Lucas and Monika. Our brand, Martelo and Mo, is the culmination of our shared passion for creativity and aesthetics. Martelo and Mo evolved from our wish to express these values through high-quality, handcrafted pieces of furniture, made with our hands and hearts.

We’re completely in love with Mappa Burl.

Earlier this year, we had the joy of working with this stunning veneer for a collaboration with Bergman & Mar. The natural patterns are so intricate and delicate - working with it takes patience, but the results are always breathtaking.

There’s something magical about this material… the way the grain moves, the depth of the colours… and something we can’t share online: the scent of the wood as it’s being worked is just incredible. Moments like these remind us why we fell in love with craft in the first place.

We're so excited to share that our Bella Wooden Tray has been featured in this month’s House & Garden! 🥂✨

This tray holds a special place in our hearts. Every piece is handcrafted in our Hertford workshop, using beautiful hardwoods that are chosen for their quality and character. Each tray features a contrasting wooden detail in the corner and softly rounded edges, giving it that luxurious feel you love so much.

Lucas and I design and handmake each one to be both useful and beautiful, something that feels at home whether it’s holding drinks, keeping your footstool neat, or simply adding a touch of warmth to your living room.

We make two versions: one with wide oval handles that make it easy to carry from room to room, and another with no handles at all, for a clean, minimalist look. Whichever you choose, each tray carries the care, craft and joy we put into everything we make.

It means the world to see our work celebrated in House & Garden - thank you so much for supporting our small Hertford workshop and helping us keep craft alive. 🌿

We’re Martelo and Mo – a husband-and-wife team, proudly designing and handcrafting home decor from our peaceful workshop in Hertford, UK. Founded in 2016, our work is rooted in the rich blend of our Brazilian, Polish, and British heritage – a fusion that inspires everything we create.

Our small team of skilled artisans brings over 15 years of collective experience to the workshop, combining traditional and modern woodworking techniques to craft timeless, sustainable pieces. We work with the finest responsibly sourced hardwoods from trusted local sawmills and suppliers, always striving for exceptional quality and thoughtful design.

What started as a passion for creating beautiful, lasting furniture for our own home has grown into a studio that now serves clients across the world.
