Vintage Writing Desk/Dressing Table | £159

A beautifully constructed piece of furniture circa 1920s: originally a dressing table but would also serve well as a writing desk. There is not a hint of veneer or hardboard, it’s solid mahogany throughout with cabriole legs. There are five spacious drawers, one central and two curved drawers either side The piece was in sound condition prior to painting but marked with water stains so ripe for a facelift. The paint is Annie Sloan Oxford Navy. The brush strokes are deliberately exaggerated and finished with black wax giving a deeper colour and aged appearance. The drawers are in original varnished condition refreshed with Danish oil. The original brass handles have been cleaned but left with some ageing to complement the desk.. The finishing touch is a curvaceous abstract design stencilled on the upper surface in gold.

Vintage Bureau | £159

A reproduction Georgian bureau beautifully made and in good condition. It is small and will fit easily into most modern homes. The exterior paint is Annie Sloan Chicago Grey; the brush strokes are exaggerated and highlighted with white wax. Inside is in Annie Sloan Provence with a contrast in Chicago Grey. The leather panel on the writing slope is stencilled with a curvaceous abstract design to match the exterior, although the stencil on the front is raised giving an embossed effect. The drawers are in their original condition. The original handles are cleaned but left with some patina. The lock on the writing slope is in working condition with original key.

Pine Bedside Tables | £125 | SOLD

A pair of solid pine bedside tables circa 1980s given a facelift into the 21st century. They were in excellent condition prior to painting but in need of a facelift. Each has two spacious drawers with new satin finish brass handles. The paint is Annie Sloan Chicago Grey in deliberately exaggerated brush strokes highlighted with white wax to giving a look of faded elegance. There is a simple allium stencil in lilac on the top drawer and top surface of each. Will blend in with most bedroom décor.

Art Deco Bureau | £189

A rare original Art Deco Bureau from the early 1930s; a sound piece constructed of solid oak. The central writing slope is framed with bookshelves on each side, it falls to reveal a pigeon hole interior with 2 small drawers with original Bakelite k***s and leather writing surface. There is a single drawer beneath with two original Bakelite drop handles. The overall condition was good but it was in need of some love. The paint is Annie Sloan Chicago Grey in deliberately exaggerated strokes with a contrast of Aubusson on the interior and the bookshelves on the side. The leather inset is stencilled with an Art Deco stencil whilst the exterior has a Gatsby style stencil in Aubusson. The lock is not in working order but the key with tassel works well as a handle.

Vintage Bureau | £159 | SOLD

A small ladies bureau in the Queen Anne Revival style, probably circa 1930s. It has slim cabriole legs with hand carving on the legs and lower part of the bureau. There is one spacious drawer and writing slope with leather inset. The paint is Annie Sloan Old Violet finished with white wax to give an aged but soft finish. The interior is Chicago Grey with the leather inset stencilled in an Art Nouveau pattern in Old Violet. The drawer was in good clean condition but also refreshed with Danish Oil. The handles have been cleaned and polished, the lock is not in working order but has a replacement skeleton key which works well as a handle. The finishing touch is a key tassel in matching colour.

Art Deco Cabinet | £179 | SOLD

An original Art Deco cabinet with typical geometric styling and zigzag accents, it certainly has the wow factor. Considering it’s probably around 100 years old, it wasn’t in bad shape. Someone has replaced a pane of glass so some of the detailing around the interior glass is a little uneven and there is one small crack on the bottome right hand door. It has two panelled doors, clear glass sides and sits on block feet so typical of the period. The doors have symmetrical zigzag panelling and lock with the original key. The fabric on the sheleves has been painted keeping the original design. The paint is Annie Sloan Athenian Black in deliberately exaggerated brush strokes finished with black wax. The back panel has been stencilled in a fan design, again typical of the period, in Paprika. The finishing touch is the key tassel also in paprika.

Cabinet No.40 | £165 | SOLD

A slim antique glass cabinet probably from the 1930s, ideal as a gin/cocktail cabinet. It has glazed doors and sides with gothic like panelling on the glass. It sits neatly on cabriole carved legs. It’s a spacious piece with two removable shelves. Overall, it was in very good condition prior to painting but has obviously had a life with evidence of knocks in some places. The door is lockable with the original key, it. The back panel has been hand stencilled in gold acrylic in a design redolent of the gothic arches on the glass. The gold tassel is the finishing touch. The paint is Annie Sloan Oxford Navy in exaggerated brush strokes coated with 2 coats of clear wax and a final coat of black wax to add depth and age.

A vintage Queen Anne style bureau circa 1930s in general good condition with the usual d***s from age. There are 3 generous drawers with a fall front and ample space inside. The exterior paint is Annie Sloan Oxford Navy; the brush strokes are exaggerated and highlighted with . The front of the writing slope is decorated with an ink and quill stencil in gold gilding wax. The interior has a pop of colour with Florence, a deep sea green. The leather panel on the writing slope is painted and stencilled with a design redolent of the Art Nouveau period. The drawers are in original varnished condition and refreshed with Danish Oil. The original handles are cleaned and polished. The lock is in working order with replacement key.

Console Table No. 32 | £95 | SOLD

A nice quality mid-century console table; a solid wood piece given an Art Deco finish . The lines are clean and simple, tapered legs and one spacious drawer. The original contemporary handles have been replaced with original Art Deco brass handles and drawer finished with Danish oil. The paint finish is Annie Sloan Athenian Black in deliberately exaggerated brush strokes deepened by a touch of black wax. It is finished with an Art Deco palm stencil in classic gold giving it a Deco look without being too brash.

Vintage Cabinet | £195 | SOLD

A bow fronted cabinet in the Queen Anne style, circa 1930s. It has a single glazed door with enclosed sides and sits neatly on four small cabriole legs.. It’s a spacious piece with two removable glass shelves. Overall, it was in sound condition prior to painting but has obviously had a life with evidence of knocks in some places and a fine crack on the right glass panel but still worth recreating. The crack os not immediately visible and has previously been secured with tape so I have left it untouched. The door is lockable with a new replacement lock and keys. The back panel has been hand stencilled in a striking Art Nouveau stencil with copper gilding wax. The paint is Annie Sloan Oxford Navy in exaggerated brush strokes coated with 2 coats of clear wax and a final coat of black wax to add depth and age. The escutcheon has been gilded in copper and the matching key tassel is the finishing touch
