🚗⚠️ Dashboard Warning of the Week: Blind Spot Detection Warning ⚠️🚗
If your Blind Spot Detection warning light has come on, your car is signalling that something isn’t quite right with the system that helps monitor the areas you can’t easily see.
This feature uses radar sensors (usually located in the rear bumper) to detect vehicles alongside or behind you, so when the warning appears, it normally means one of the following:
🔸 Dirt, ice, or road grime is blocking the radar sensors
🔸 Heavy rain, fog, or spray is affecting visibility
🔸 There’s been a low-impact bump that’s disturbed a sensor
🔸 A sensor or wiring fault
🔸 The system needs recalibrating after electrical or bumper work
Try this first:
👉 Give the rear corners of your car a good clean, that’s where the radar sensors usually live.
Sometimes a blockage is all it takes to trigger the warning.
If the light stays on…
