Bespoke king size bed. Really pleased with this build and how well the bed looks in the customer’s home. The customer and I worked together on the design to ensure it had all the features they were looking for. In particular, the angled headboard, which is my favourite part of the build.

SOLD!

I have sold my first piece of wall art!
This piece is something I had envisioned for months and it involved techniques that were completely new to me which I couldn’t wait to try out.
I made it with the intention of it being for sale but realistically I knew it would probably just be displayed on my own wall, which it has been for almost a year.
From a business perspective, it’s probably not wise for me to make things that I would happily keep for myself because I don’t have much drive to sell them.
I listed this piece for sale on Etsy and forgot about it, until I got an email saying it had sold. Even then I thought it might be a practical joke.
I delivered this to a lovely family in Wolverhampton. The person who bought it was kind enough to show me lots of incredible pieces of wooden artwork he has collected over the years. It’s great to know it’s going to someone who appreciates and understands the work that has gone into this piece. He also expressed interest in commissioning more pieces like this, so hopefully I will get to be creative again soon.

Popped round to a customer’s house this week to take some photos of the TV stand and coffee table we made for them.

It’s so much more rewarding seeing the finished product in someone’s home rather than just in the workshop.

We worked with the customer to create these two pieces exactly how they had envisioned them, so they fit perfectly and work well with the rest of the room.

If you would like something similar making then send us a message 😊 @ Halifax, West Yorkshire

I am now set up in the new workshop and getting stuck into a list of customer orders. Right now I’m working on this coffee table made from oak sleepers and will soon start making a TV stand to match

I have moved out of the workshop I have been in for the last year and I am in the process of setting up in somewhere new. Going to be busy setting up in my new workshop so I won't be making anything for a little while. Got plenty of orders and ideas to get on with making once I'm set up.

2018 saw my first live edge mirror and who better to make it for than my mother. If you would like a mirror like this then get in touch 😊 These can be made either circular, rectangular or square, made to any dimensions, any species of wood. This mirror is approximately 900mm x 600mm (3ft x 2ft) and made from elm.

Going to be posting some of my favourite projects from this year and also some, like this one, that you might not have seen before.
This TV unit/bookshelf was for my cousin and the first thing I made when I moved into my workshop. I measured up the space where it was going, between the foot of his bed and the wall, and built it to fit snugly to maximise space so he could comfortably fit his Xbox on it. However, a couple of weeks later when I delivered it, he had got a new bed which was about two inches longer and the TV unit wouldn’t fit. After a bit of a trim down I managed to fit it in 😁

A little throwback to a bespoke TV unit I made earlier this year. This was a very rewarding project as it was great to create a piece exactly how the customer had imagined it.
Made from new oak sleepers and matt black flat steel legs. The unit was designed to fit snugly in the alcove and also finished with a mixture of several different coloured waxes to create the specific colour the customer wanted.
There’s also couple of pre-finished pictures here because the wood can be left natural with just a clear wax finish if so desired.
If you’re interested in something like this then get in touch 😊

This project is something a bit different to what I usually make but I’m glad I decided to take it on. Two chairs and a coffee table made from pallet wood for the new reception area at . They’re getting some fitted cushions for them but I wanted you to see the whole chairs. I would be happy to make more furniture like this so get in touch if you’re interested 😊

Thank you to everyone who came to see my stall at Crafts In The Pen this weekend, your support is much appreciated 😊 This was the first time I had shown my work at an event and it was great to hear what the public had to say. It was also encouraging to receive so many compliments from accomplished woodworkers who have been in this field of work for decades. I will be looking to do more shows like this in the future because as well as all the lovely comments, I also sold lots of items. The resin river coasters sold incredibly well, but the highlight of the weekend was selling the large mirror at the back and the small mirror on the right hand side. I only finished the large mirror the day before the show so I didn’t get chance to take any decent pictures of it. The small and large carving attracted a lot of attention and praise too. All in all it was definitely worth all the late nights in the workshop. I still have a few candle holders left over so I’m going to take some pictures and get them posted up on Instagram and Facebook for those of you who might want to buy one.
