Hello, My name is Alec. I'm a 31 year old Ginger lad, who up to this point worked full time in outdoor education. I had always wanted to be working outside or with my hands. However, after 12 years I ended up being more office bound than outdoors. The RE-Finery is my chance to make a go of it my own way. I am mainly involved in the repairing and refinishing of wooden furniture. This can be pieces

that I have bought in need of restoration or commissions of people's own furniture. Whilst doing these restorations I am building my skill set to making hand joined solid wood jewellery boxes and tables. Please follow and keep dropping in to see new projects and products.

One of the projects that has been filling my time this month. This bird table was scratch built mostly from my scrap wood box. The feet and leg is the only timber that was bought for this piece. The roof of the table is an old pine shelving unit and the table is some left over 18mm ply. This has been out in all weathers for the last month with no finish and is starting to weather up nicely.

Ozzie and I were out in the snow this morning. This afternoon is being spent at the bench with the radio on, a cup of coffee and a second coat of paint on these table legs. The table top is next up for having the wax stripped and a good sanding before finishing. I hope all our followers are having a good day too?!

Painted solid wood side table for sale (£20)
This side table is painted in Cocoa colour Rustoleum chalk paint and finished in clear wax. There is no distressing on this piece, it is a solid single colour finish and would be ideal as a lamp table or for displaying flowers.

Here I have a solid pine double pedestal dressing table which measures 48"x18" x30" tall (122cmx46cm x76cm tall). The top and drawer fronts have been stripped back to bare wood and rubbed with Danish oil to bring out the colour and grain. The body has been re finished in a soft sheen paint in Jasmine white. As can be seen in the pictures one of the drawer fronts has been repaired, this repair is structurally sound and barely seen without inspection.
Viewings are welcome by arrangement and delivery can be arranged at an extra cost (based on distance).

This side table was brought to me with very bad wear to the varnish coating. The owner originally requested a complete cover up paint job however after seeing the photo of the table sanded back agreed that the grain of the wood was just too nice to hide and agreed on a Danish oil finish to really show it off.
