The blower has a bad reputation .. but this job would have taken half a day at least without one. I blew all the leaves evenly across the lawn, then mowed them up, making a perfect mix of carbon and nitrogen for the compost. Simple and quick. Raking would have taken hours, and I'd end up with an upper body like Popeye 😄

Don't give up on your gardens in the winter months .. with proper lawn care and thoughtful planting, the garden can be beautiful all year round.

Time to prune Camellias, now the flowers are over .. cut to a leaf node .. not like picture two, with a piece of stem above the leaf, but like picture three. Good to finish with an ericaceous feed. Ditto for Rhododendrons.
