Today marks the 280th anniversary of the Battle of Culloden, 1746. The Menzies Clan fought and died on that moor. The resulting defeat caused brutal social change. With the black mark of rebellion, highland culture was targeted and suppressed, the effects of which are still seen to this day. As the remains of this former highland stronghold show.
