We are delighted to be the project team and planning advisory lead on the redevelopment of the now dated JTC Factory site in Dundee. The proposal is for a major residential led masterplan including affordable homes, business units and shops. The plans are linked with the company's reinvestment into a new bespoke factory premises elsewhere in Dundee and enabling the retention of one of the city's largest employers.

A PAN was lodged with the Council this week and we are supported in this project by Studio LBA, Ryden, Civic, Orbit Communications, OOBE, Hurd Rolland, SLR Consulting and Ellendale Environmental

We are delighted to welcome Tom Concannon to our team this week. Originally from Ireland, Tom brings over two years of planning experience in private consultancy, along with academic research expertise focused on public consultations.

He has worked on a wide range of planning applications across Ireland’s commercial, residential, and hospitality sectors. His portfolio features notable projects such as the Regional Aquatic Centre in Galway, the Primark expansion at the Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick, and the extension of a major logistics and distribution centre for a leading furniture retailer in County Galway.
With strong interpersonal and project management skills, Tom is eager to build on his experience and contribute to shaping the UK’s built environment with Ferguson Planning.

Ferguson Planning Secures Consent for 117MW Solar and Energy Storage Development in North-East Scotland

Ferguson Planning is delighted to announce that, acting on behalf of Innova Renewables Developments Ltd, we have successfully secured development consent for the ‘Lower Bodachra Solar and Energy Storage’ project – a significant renewable energy scheme in North-East Scotland. The project, which comprises a large-scale Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Farm and battery energy storage facility with a combined capacity of approximately 117 megawatts (MW), received formal approval from the Energy Consents Unit (ECU) on 24 June 2025.

Located on land to the north-east of Dyce, the development will make a meaningful contribution to Scotland’s renewable energy targets and support the decarbonisation of the national grid. The proposal includes solar panels, battery storage infrastructure, and associated works, enabling the generation and storage of clean electricity to meet growing energy demands and improve grid stability.

The application was submitted on 10 September 2024 under Section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989. Throughout the consenting process, Ferguson Planning led the planning and environmental assessment strategy, engaged with key stakeholders, and ensured all technical and statutory requirements were met. Our team worked collaboratively with Innova Renewables and a multidisciplinary team of specialists to successfully navigate a complex regulatory landscape and deliver a robust application.

We congratulate Innova Renewables Developments Ltd on this important milestone and look forward to seeing the project progress towards construction and operation.

We’re delighted to announce that planning approval has been granted for our client at their site, Maritime Transport, Eurocentral in Motherwell

The approved development includes a new staff office and welfare building, along with enhanced infrastructure, including additional parking and other key improvements to support the site’s operations.

Fantastic news! We have received full planning permission and listed building consent for the ground floor retail unit at 147 Oxford Street, London.

This approval allows our client, Change Group, to sub-divide their existing shop, which includes internal alterations, shopfront modifications, and the removal of an existing ATM. Importantly, these changes will be made without compromising the character, appearance, or significance of the listed building or the wider Soho Conservation Area.

Our client is delighted with this outcome.
