Looking back at old furniture project photos and found these. This was a jewellery and watch box made from solid walnut with brass inlay, leather pulls and hand-cut dovetailed drawers. Who doesn’t love hand-cut dovetails??? Finished with a high gloss lacquer. One of my favourite pieces I have made. ******er

I worked with the client and her interior designer to create this charming wardrobe to fit the space in the most beautiful and well styled cottage I’ve seen. The room has a low ceiling so we designed this wardrobe to have a gap above it, to give the sense of height to the room. The dentil cornice adds some classic detailing without aging the piece. Having the two side cabinets set back allows the room to feel bigger, as well as missing the curtains on the left. There will be fabric behind the glass in the doors.

Now this was a wonderful little project to make. I have done a few jobs for this client before (including the sofa behind and the armrest) but they wanted a side table that also fitted over their footstool.

The brief was simple - It needed to be beautiful, have hand cut dovetails with a removable tray on top. These were all hand cut and I could not be happier. It’s not often I get to hand cut dovetails, especially ones this big but I’m over the moon and so are my clients.
