Opening hours are subject to weather conditions, therefore it is always advisable to call to check availability. Fleetwood Beach Wheelchairs KAVS, is a registered, non-funded, nonprofit-making charity based in Fleetwood, which provides specialised beach wheelchairs, free of charge, so that anyone needing a chair to access the beach can do so. At present we have eleven specialised wheelchairs and

two beach rollators, a hoist and an extensive range of equipment to ensure our clients are comfortable and safe to access the beach. All Donations are gratefully received to keep this unique charity running:

Our intrepid Charity Cyclist, Gillian, has completed the last section of her ride and is back at Fleetwood Beach Wheelchairs! A small welcoming committee met her this morning with Mayor of Wyre Steve Nicholls on hand to thank her.

Gillian has reached Sedburgh on this stage of her magnificent Charity Cycle Ride. With a fair wind and some decent weather we are hoping to see her safely return to The Wheel Base at Fleetwood around 11o'clock on Wednesday morning. We will keep you updated on progress and arrival! We have just received a phone call from Gillian to update us on her progress. As you can see by the photographs she has reached Redcar. She was in good spirits and told us that the weather has not been too bad, and yesterday was lovely. She is having a well earned rest today, staying with friends before setting off back to Fleetwood tomorrow. We are looking forward to welcoming her back to the Wheel Base on Wednesday afternoon. Due to strong winds and flying sand Fleetwood Beach Wheelchairs will not be opening today Saturday 6th June 2026. The conditions are not safe for chair users on the beach.
