To day was a productive day spent working on the business rather than working in it 💪🏼

After a day of marketing, planning and looking at ways to improve the customer experience, I decided to treat myself on the way home and stopped off at Mumma Lourdes Woodfire Pizza at Hawley Memorial Club in Blackwater 🍕

If you’ve never tried them before, I’d definitely recommend giving them a go. Plenty of choice on the menu and the pizza was spot on once again.

One of the things I enjoy about running a local business is being able to support other local businesses whenever I can 👍🏼

Called out to investigate concerns raised by British Gas regarding an oven circuit and alleged missing earth bonding. 👨🏻‍🔧⚡

Inspection found the cooker circuit wired in 6mm cable and protected by a 32A RCBO despite only supplying a 3kW oven. While not immediately dangerous, the protective device was oversized for the appliance.

Further investigation uncovered taped connector block joints behind the oven supplying both the oven and gas hob ignition. The customer had also reported sparking/arcing at the cooker switch above the hob.

To improve safety and practicality, we relocated the cooker isolation point into the adjacent base unit, installed a new cooker connection unit with socket outlet, fitted a correctly fused connection for the hob ignition and replaced the 32A RCBO with a more suitable 16A RCBO.

We also supplied and installed a replacement oven after confirming the original appliance had developed an internal fault.

The “missing bonding” previously reported was already present to both gas and water services, although minor improvements were carried out to the existing water bonding connection.

Another example of why proper investigation and fault finding matters.

A proper local day out today at the Yateley May Fayre ☀️

Sun was out, sunglasses on, music playing — couldn’t have asked for much more.

We already knew what food was on the cards as we’d had a heads up… a mate of mine runs a smoked meat food van serving smashed burgers — Crumpy’s Smoke Shack 🔥🍔
Safe to say it didn’t disappoint.

I highly recommend the “This Little Piggy” burger and the jalapeño croquettes — both spot on 👌🏼

The little one had a go on a few rides, then Grandad turned up just in time for ice creams 🍦 and we finished it off with a play in the park — simple but perfect.

A slightly different one from me today…

Yesterday I took part in the Frimley 10K — and safe to say the legs are definitely feeling it today 😅

We also got involved in the fun run at the end with my daughter… which turned into getting absolutely covered in paint 🎨 but it was all good fun and a great day overall.

Now heading over to the Yateley May Fayre — will share a few photos later 👍🏼
