I have been in the upholstery trade for more than 30 years and over that time I have learnt many traditional as well as modern techniques. I started out in the manufacturing industry as part of a team of upholsterers, producing three-piece suites of various designs for up market retailers including Marks and Spencers. It was while working for this company I started taking on re-upholstery projects

at home, at first for family and friends which soon turned to friends of friends. I was keen to learn more about the traditional methods of upholstery, so after a couple of years I moved on to join a smaller re-upholstery company in Norfolk. It was here where I learnt all the traditional methods of upholstery, using traditional materials like horse hair, coir, flock etc. and a lot of hand-stitching techniques that were used in the past. I soon incorporated this knowledge in to the work I took on outside my full time employment and found myself earning a reputation for producing high quality work. I have over the years since produced a lot of fine pieces for interior designers, antique dealers aswell as some very important people. I have also recovered many three-piece suites, sofas, chairs, deep-buttoned chesterfields, headboards, motorcycle seats, car seats, boat seats, public seating. I believe I have the skills and enthusiasm to take on almost any upholstery project. I have also made to order many bespoke pieces including headboards and sofas. I find this particular service gives the customer the opportunity to have the design, size and feel that they require, which isn't often available from a store.
