🚘 CLASSIC CARS VS MODERN CARS – OUR APPROACH IS DIFFERENT! 🧵

At Shropshire Auto Stitch, we love working on all vehicles, but when it comes to classic cars, we believe they deserve a little extra consideration. ❤️

🔧 Modern vehicles often involve working with newer materials, factory-fitted designs and modern construction methods. Our focus is on restoring comfort, repairing wear and tear, and creating a fresh, professional finish while keeping everything looking as it should.

🛠️ Classic vehicles are a different story. They often require more research, careful dismantling and a real appreciation for the vehicle’s history. Original materials, traditional stitching, period-correct colours and getting those little details right can make all the difference.

Sometimes it’s about preserving originality. Other times, it’s about giving an older vehicle a new lease of life while keeping its character intact.

Every classic has its own story, and we treat each one as an individual project rather than a one-size-fits-all job.

Whether it’s a treasured classic, a modern daily driver or a much-loved campervan, we take pride in getting the details right. 👌

Well, looks like we’d better start designing ejector seats before someone asks us to upholster the interior! 🤣💺

Forget heated seats and fancy stitching… we’ll be needing an eject button, a parachute and a VERY good headlining! 😂

🐦🚗 JUST ANOTHER WEEK AT SHROPSHIRE AUTO STITCH… 😂

A little behind-the-scenes look at what we’ve been up to this week! 👀

🐦 First, we had an unexpected visitor who decided our workshop was the perfect place to set up camp… luckily, we managed to show our feathered friend the door (or should we say, the open window! 😅).

🐆 Then it was onto giving a Jaguar a fresh new headlining, getting rid of that saggy roof lining!

🚘 And finally, Mark and our work placement student Jacob have been putting their heads together to work out how to create a brand-new roof for this beautiful Ford Model A. Now THAT’S a challenge! 🔧

From unexpected wildlife to classic car craftsmanship, there’s never a dull moment around here! 🤣

These Corvette seats have had a serious glow-up! 😍🔥

Reupholstered in classic black vinyl, with the original logos embroidered to keep that authentic Corvette look. 🖤

Sometimes, keeping it original is the best way to go! 👌

This week we have this beautiful Ford Model A Roadster in for a new roof - at nearly a century old, it is in beautiful condition 😍

🪡 Meet Mark & Leanne – the husband-and-wife team behind Shropshire Auto Stitch! 🚗

Behind every great upholstery job is years of experience, a lot of stitching… and usually Mark telling Leanne she’s doing it wrong! 🤣 (Only joking… mostly!)

🪖 Mark discovered auto upholstery after leaving the British Army. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion, and before long, the garden shed became the starting point for Shropshire Auto Stitch! From classic cars to modern motors, VW campers and bespoke interiors, he’s spent years perfecting his craft.

🧵 Leanne started out learning from Mark and is now full-time in the business. She’s proof that you can mix a bit of creativity, attention to detail and a healthy dose of patience with working alongside your husband… although some days the patience gets tested more than the stitching! 😂

👫 Husband + wife + small business = organised chaos!

One minute we’re transforming a classic car interior, the next we’re arguing over where someone’s put the scissors, who’s used all the thread, or why Mark has started another job before finishing the last one! 👀🤣

But jokes aside, we genuinely love what we do. Every vehicle is different, every project brings a new challenge, and nothing beats seeing a tired interior transformed into something special.

We’re a small, family-run, veteran-owned business, built from the ground up with hard work, plenty of laughs and a serious passion for upholstery. ❤️
