I have been working as an Upholsterer for a little over a year now, in that time I have been working on completing certification for the Association of Master Upholsterers, gaining the first 2 qualifications available. While also working on various projects for clients, and on pieces which I have sold. Our Story

Matt began his journey with upholstery and restoration at an evening class in 2015. The restoration and reworking of a dining chair lead him to the idea of doing more pieces and subsequently he enrolled in Cornhill Courses, Fife, and there gained his Diploma in Upholstery & Soft Furnishings in July 2018.

In the time that Matt has been working on completing various certificates for the Association of Master Upholsterers, he has also worked on various projects for clients, and on pieces which, having been accepted for examination, are now for sale.

Matt has been schooled in both Traditional and Contemporary styles of upholstery and has worked with a number of different techniques, fabrics and substances including; horse hair, coconut hair, wool, leather, buttoning, piping and woodwork.

As a small business, Matt does all of the hands on work himself. His wife, Rhea, handles the admin, design and of course testing out the furniture to make sure it’s thoroughly comfortable. As a family business that’s just starting out, we really appreciate any feedback you may have, so that we know what we can do to make our clients experience even better.
