I bought a 3 piece suite from scs within 6 months a lump appeared I got in touch with scs who sent their engineers round they said there was nothing wrong with it.i wasn’t happy so i got in touch with trading standards who told me to get in touch with Ken Spencer.ken came to have a look at the suite he said there was numerous faults with it.i took scs to court Ken tol me not to give up it took nearly 6 years because scs were dragging there feet.I won my case and received £950 this was down to Ken and I am very grateful thank you Ken

Hello Ken,

I just want to thank you for taking the time to advise me on my sofa complaint last year. I followed your advice, arranged for a local inspection of the furniture, and took out a small claim against ScS. After a long battle, they settled this week.

We contacted Ken as we were getting nowhere with the national retailer we purchased the sofa from. Ken promptly made arrangements to come out. Not only this, but in advance, Ken found a problem with the advert for said sofa which went specifically against what we were being told to do to rectify our issues. Our report was detailed so much so, that despite being told they did not accept independent reports, they settled once they seen we were fully prepared with evidence and would not be bullied into going away. Full refund received thanks to Ken. Would definitely recommend to anyone having issues with their sofa. Our battle of near two years is now over.

Just want to say a big thankyou to Ken Spencer for all the advice I was given, really wouldn't of known what to do or what road to go down. We have managed to go through mediation and get a swap to a totally different suite, once again a big thankyou.

Purchased a corner sofa unit/ footstool set from SCS
After cushions started sagging to one side and generally being very uncomfortable a few months after purchase, I started a complaint to SCS
They arranged an Engineer to inspect the sofa in my house
He stuffed more blown fibre material into the sofa cushions to try and counteract the sagging and he said the sofa required daily dressing
Couple of days later still the same and SCS said there was nothing further they could do and furniture was “ normal”
Started a Section 75 claim against my credit card company with Financial Ombudsman and instructed Ken Spencer to carry out an inspection of the furniture
Ken correctly diagnosed that the cause of the sagging was due to failing Serpentine springs in the sofa base and provided me with a professional report
This report was instrumental in supporting my claim through the Financial Ombudsman and I eventually received a full refund for the faulty furniture

Dear Ken,
Thanks for your advice and help which you kindly offered free of charge regarding the poor quality LazBoy sofa sold by SCS. Following your advice I arranged for a local upholstery company to provide an independent report which led to a successful Section 75 claim and full refund of the purchase price by the credit card company.

Thank you so much for all of your help regarding, the process of dealing with a furniture company , which you want to make a complaint too, regarding their product , without your time and knowledge, I wouldn't known what to do, so thank you again , and I won my case and had the furniture removed after only having it for 19 months , a very happy person x

I cannot recommend Ken Spencer highly enough, his knowledge and support during our dispute with SCS /Tesco Bank Section 75 claim was invaluable, even though he didn't do the report he was always available at the end of the phone to offer help and advice. Very much appreciated 👍. Thank you."

With Ken’s kind help and excellent report, I have managed to secure a refund for both my leather sofa’s that had been losing colour since having them. This is the end of a 18 months battle that I do not believe I would have won without Ken’s help. Thank you so much Ken.
