June is the Month of Community đź’š

It’s a chance to celebrate the people that make our communities so special.

All across the UK, people are coming together to say thank you, meet neighbours, support good causes, welcome others in, reduce loneliness, celebrate volunteers, support carers, take action for nature and share food and friendship.

There are events and initiatives happening throughout June, with lots of different ways for you to get stuck in!

Whether you join something big, do something small, or simply bring a few people together where you live, you’ll help build stronger, kinder and more connected communities.

Why You’re More at Risk Than You Think by the Farm Community Network

While you’re outdoors, those UV rays are quietly damaging your skin. And it’s not just about getting burned occasionally. Research shows that having five or more sunburns doubles your risk of getting melanoma; the deadliest type of skin cancer.

Skin cancer has a long silent period. The damage you’re getting today might not show up for years. That sunburn you got last week could be causing problems down the road that you won’t even know about until it’s too late. This week is Mental Health Awareness Week.

Please read the words below, reproduced from a post just over a year ago;

How does this make you feel?

MENTAL HEALTH ;
“A issue that I feel absolutely nobody has mentioned and my reason for this post.
Have you woke up this morning and made the commute to work only to be greeted by your work colleagues with a smile and a good morning. Then you go an maybe grab a coffee and have a gossip about what antics you got up to the night before. Of course you have we all do it. Now tell yourself how that makes you feel 🤔 ……. Now let that sink in, but while you do think about a huntsman that pulled himself out of his warm bed this morning put his wellingtons on an made his way across to kennels. Not to be greeted by a smile and a coffee but to be greeted by his friends, his work colleagues,HIS HOUNDS.

You see it’s all to easy to forget that’s for a huntsman this just isn’t a job it’s his life. 365 days a year any weather sun, rain or snow. He makes that trip into kennels to see his hound an checks there all ok and are happy and content

Now ask yourself this has your boss been in every day this year to see if your ok?

I’ll almost guarantee not
If I remember correctly it wasn’t too long ago that the lovable Tv duo Ant & Dec would pause there Saturday night prime time television show and no advertising would be played and you was told to talk to your friends and family and share your problems, followed by a short speech about mental health and su***de and back to the two lads sporting green ribbons.

HAS ALL THIS BEEN FORGOTTEN?

The reason in asking this is simple. We have 170 registered packs of foxhounds here in the UK. So what you may say.
But if I word it as that’s 170 homeless families does it sound a little different?
Truth of it is this, this could all become a reality if you let people who have never, or will never understand a huntsman’s way of life decide our future.

Now back to the mental health side of things.
If on this next election you do chose to vote labour then everything I have put down previously becomes a reality, a total ban of trail hunting results in no need to keep kennels full of these magnificent animals. No hounds in kennels means no jobs for huntsman. No job means no income and no income means no house.

It’s all to simple to say just re home all the hounds. To anyone who has this view I urge you to take a trip to your local kennels and observe hounds and how they behave, there a pack animal the thrive on pack life. You simply take that away from a animal that’s had years of this bred into it and you’re asking for a problem. Probably resulting in foxhounds ending up on the dangerous dogs act. Once again by results of do gooders who believe they know what’s best.

So with hounds that can’t be re homed what’s next.
Simply put the hounds to sleep. But is it really just that simple ?

Now having spent a good amount of time at kennels and observing a huntsman go about his job I will guarantee he wouldn’t want anybody else to put his pack down but himself.
Don’t forget these are his friends his work colleagues his companions.
Now ask yourself could you walk into work one morning and put a gun to all your work colleagues and pull the trigger simply because a
government doesn’t agree on your way of life.

There’s absolutely no difference, you see what your reading here is FACTS

So with no hounds in kennels and no job now how does this mentality affect a huntsman.
Well let’s look at it this way. How have you felt when your down to your last few pounds (we’ve all been there) and your partner or your children asks you for something and you have to make some excuses up as to why you can’t afford it.
Makes you feel worthless like you’re not a man, like you can’t provide for your family and if you tell me different you know your lying.
Now what effect does this have on a man mentally?
Feeling worthless in the end leads to depression.
Imagine waking up every morning and having to walk down your stairs not knowing when you have to be out your house. You check your bank account to see there’s no wages been paid in this month so you take yourself to see your friends; oh yer I forget, you had to put them all down yesterday.
More depression right.
So what’s next what’s the easiest way out from all this?
SU***DE
Like it or not it’s the truth. Why would a man live with the thought every day that he’s failed?

So what’s else to do than go an join his hounds hunting in the sky?
If you’ve taken the time to read this then thank you. But please just let it sink in before you take yourself off to vote and before you put a cross in the box look at the bigger picture

You're talking a man’s life simply because the opinion of someone in the city who’s never understood this way of life doesn’t agree with a pack of hounds chasing a rag.

So I’ll close it with this
Peter Kay a very famous comedian, tells a joke like this;

You sit down with a fresh brew and your phone rings. You answer to;
GUESS WHOS DEAD
Who like it’s a game of guess who
OH THE HUNTSMAN
What your joking me how’s he die
HE COMMITTED SU***DE
You’re joking me why?

THEY SIMPLY TOOK AWAY HIS LIVELIHOOD”
