Yesterday I spent a very enjoyable day with Les at Pren looking at the mysteries of wood turning. It might be a bit utilitarian, but I wanted to make a large mallet (we are not short of nice wood bowls) for placing felling wedges. This fine beast is made from green Japanese Larch from our own woods.

A couple of new additions in Celf Aran Arts today. A sturdy garden bench and a firm favourite of ours - a Stormblown Beech, natural bowl.
Looking forward to them finding their new forever home

We haven't done as much wood-work as we might during lock-down, but a burst of chair-making occurred after we felled a sizeable oak on site. We'd like to reassure the eagle-eyed amongst you who spotted the spirit-level sat on the second from back chair: no straight lines or right-angles were knowingly used in the making of these products😁
