Gary, Emma & George's 7500 Pressups January Challenge!

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. As a family team (Gary 41, Emma 13 and George 11) we're going to work together to complete 7500 pushups during January 2025 to raise some money for Cancer Research UK. Our target isn't huge but every penny will help fund lifesaving research and the development of kinder cancer diagnosis and treatments. I've been lucky enough to pick up a fantastic piece of dark African Iroko. What better way to preserve and showcase its beauty than to create a vintage style interior lamp!

Limited edition with only 3 hand-crafted from this piece. This has a brown material twisted cord approx 3.5 metres long, with an African Iroko base featuring a roman ogee edge profile and brass bulb holder. It's finished with Rubio Hardwax Oil and features a large vintage lotus bulb for warm ambient lighting.

Check out the video to see the tortoise shell effect when light hits the Iroko base!

Another piece that shows exactly why walnut is an incredible contemporary choice for resin coffee tables. There aren't many specimens that offer such attractive and interesting figuring! Sand for what feels like weeks and the rewards become clear!

Following yesterday's smaller table with this unique design, I decided a larger bespoke table would also look great - this time to keep! Same approach so as to not waste any timber, this took quite some time but the effort was well worth it! Taking commissions on this handmade design at the moment.

With two years worth of offcuts piling up and a total hatred of wasting timber, the idea was flatten, thickness and square up each piece until I had a drum full of small 'jenga' sizes pieces. These were then arranged and glued to create an really interesting table top design. Spaces were intentionally lefylt and filled with black resin. This one has a unique repurposed adjustable industrial base. Ots found a new home in the Shropshire countryside. If you're looking for something unique for your home, get in touch 👍

After a really busy time in the day job, I've been taking some time to try out a few jewellery / watch / cigar box designs. This one is walnut based with an oak lid that has a purple heart accent. I've fitted magnetic closures as I wanted this to be a lift off lid. The inside bottom is lined with black velvet. It's approx 20cm x 8.5cm x 6.5cm and has been finished with Rubio (I can't resist!!). Really enjoyed practicing the lap joints beforehand and these turned out beautifully in the end.

In the spirit of trying new things, these tapered solid Oak legs on our latest large Italian Walnut river coffee table are a new favourite! This one is 120 x 65 and a great size for a lounge. We've gone with a lovely tropical blue complimented with a bronze stir through and bronze powder infil for the knots and voids. Ready to ship very soon!

Thrilled to have got my hands a length of very old waney edge Yew which I turned into a pair of side tables for a customer. Really happy with how these pair turned out - so much character in the slab and the colours are insane. Can't beat nature for beauty!

Here's an Elm & 'Planet Earth' river breakfast bar finished today. This one's a bit different as it's 104cm tall, 120 x 60 wide and sits on countertop height hairpins. As usual, I've used and as usual the result is fantastic (not sponsored but I'd recommend giving them a try). This lovely slab was pretty thirsty but after a few coats of Rubio the finish is really lovely! I've just added these to my Etsy listings of you're in the market for something unique.
