This is not a quiet piece of furniture.
Finished in a rich, inky black with a beautifully curved top and just enough gold detail to feel a bit smug about it, this vintage corner cabinet is here to elevate your room and judge your life choices (gently).

The upper open shelf is perfect for showing off the things you actually like — books you’ve read, ceramics you didn’t impulse-buy, or bottles you save for “guests” but secretly drink yourself. Below, a single drawer with a contrasting wood front and ornate brass k**b hides the less aesthetic essentials. We all have them.

Slim curved legs and a sculptural base keep everything feeling elegant rather than heavy. It’s classic, a bit theatrical, and works surprisingly well in both modern and traditional homes.

This was once a wash stand but was loved so much it has been adapted, with a new shelf added to the top. It has lived a long and interesting life for sure!

FOR SALE:

Rescued from a barn clearance, we have never seen anything like this.
It is 'crude' but charming and baffles us a little in terms of its purpose.
Hand-painted onto a dark wood and cut out around the edges with a simple stand on a hinge at the back to stand up.
Probably used for display, it is in great condition with just a couple of nicks and chips (see photos).

This is a Vintage Japanese Kutani Moriage 'Immortals' tea set: 6 cups, six saucers, six side plates, one cake plate, tea pot and sugar bowl.
The design includes a 'raised' brown dragon motif and images of "Immortals".
It has been lovingly stored over its long life and has no chips or breakages.
It really is a lovely piece to have on show.

This is such an intriguing piece.
It was once a washstand, as it has had a top put over the holes for the bowl.
It is being reimagined as an elegant corner unit.

My husband has just rescued this.
It is incredible.
My favourite is the concealed drawer right at the top.
It is in danger of being a failed rescue... unless somebody buys it quickly.
