Not a bad sign that it was hard to photograph without people being in the shot, I’m back onsite Thursday morning for my last visit in this phase of work, we’ll be doing final snags and delivering some interpretation.
Thanks again for all the lovely comments and to and for their unwavering support throughout the whole long process.
Thanks also to , , and Matt for the excellent workshop help, and for the timber we used all from either our valley or just five minutes away at the Sizergh Estate
Thanks also very much to .here and for excellent advice hopefully weeding out the worst of my interpretation of the public’s word into the branching poetic verse-form, still not sure if it’s a poem or a sculpture!?
Finally thanks most of all to amazing people of Northumbria, the public and also NNPA rangers and staff who unwittingly helped me design this work in September last year during our public engagement and the 100s of people who shared the words which we used to create this piece. It’s been such a huge privilege to learn a little of how you loved this tree in this amazing place, and the many different roles the tree had in your lives. This has changed forever how I relate to the trees in my life now. Getting close to this project despite not being from Northumberland has also made me see afresh some of the special places (and trees) in my life which I would be indelibly hurt and changed if anything ever happened to them.
