In 2003 we went independent and have been ever since. Back in 1991, we were part of a franchise that covered West Midlands and Leicestershire. At the time the majority of our work was repairing vinyl, usually, pub and club seating that had being damaged by cigarette burns, and general wear and tear. The leather repair was mainly car seating for local garages and car dealerships

. By the mid-nineties, leather furniture was becoming more popular and more affordable. We saw a sharp increase in our workload as furniture retailers and manufacturers began to use our services as part of a nationwide network. In 2003 we re-launched our business as 'Care of Leather' and left the franchise network. Along with service calls and extended warranty work, we were able to offer a repair service for domestic customers, many of whom were purchasing leather upholstery for the first time and surprised that, unlike fabric, leather is in most cases repairable and extends the life of the leather furniture. Over the years we have carried out work for major furniture retailers, including, DFS, SCS, World of Leather, Furniture Village etc. along with department stores including, Harrods, Fenwicks, John Lewis, along with local independent retailers. Insurance work for, Direct Line, RSA, CIS, Rainbow International.
