Our Story.

We are three guys, Dave, Tim and Marcel and are also the best of friends, who run a store in Portsmouth in Hampshire selling beautiful furniture and accessories. The name Castles comes from the fact we believe that everyone’s home is their own little Castle and also pays homage to our roots working for years in furniture stores near the castle in Portchester, Hampshire.

We travel the UK and also around the world, sourcing the most beautiful and well made ranges of furniture, accessories and mirrors from different manufacturers and put them together in one place, so that you can buy beautiful things to help you make your home your Castle. Dave’s our quality guru, he’s worked in furniture manufacturing and stores since he left school, and if it’s doesn’t get past Dave’s strict quality criteria, then it doesn’t come through our doors. If your having your furniture delivered, it’s also Dave who will most probably be the man who gets that triple wardrobe up your awkward staircase. Tim’s the lover of all things beautiful and shiney and is the one responsible for our ever changing and growing range of accessories and mirrors. He sources from lots of small independent suppliers from the UK and overseas

Marcel is in charge of all things design and technical and is the always smiling face you will often be greeted by, when you come and visit us in store or have your furniture delivered. We are a new school store with old school attitudes. We know that everyone would love to always shop local with real people like us, but that only works if the local store has the best price. We are of the generation, that will happily stand in a store and search online to see if we can find it cheaper. So that’s why every month , we scour the web and price check everything we sell, to make sure that we are always the best value store out there. And in the unlikely event that we have missed something and you can find any of our products cheaper, we will always price match. This is why our customers know that they are shopping locally for beautiful furniture, mirrors and accessories with real people, but are also getting the very best price possible.
