We now have a Thursday Craft afternoon session as well. We meet in the Potley and Pockeridge Community Centre, Pockeridge Road, Corsham SN13 9SB. We have converted the original building into a bright, well-equipped community workshop. Currently we are open Monday 10.00-13.00 and Thursday for crafts (stained glass) runs 14.00-17.00
A session for dementia clients is run on Wednesday afternoon in conjunction with Altzheimer Support Wiltshire
It is intended that further sessions will be added to meet demand. Do drop in for a chat if you are interested in what we do! Typical Shedders; The proposal to form our shed was in November 2015, with an immediate decision to welcome women into shed membership. The Brunel Shed in Corsham is the 300th shed to be formed in the UK. We welcome men and women from the Corsham district, including Box, Rudloe, Lacock and Neston. Our shed recognises that changes in circumstance leave people in need of company or looking for a new outlet or challenge in life, e.g. family changes, rural isolation, retirement or some loss of capability. Transport for appropriate cases can be arranged through Corsham or Box LINK schemes. The shed also provides an environment where shedders problems can be shared and expert outside help can be found if needed. Other shedders will just enjoy the opportunity to use our facilities for their own ends, or the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills. Social activity
The premises include a generous seating area, so that shedders can get to know each other over a cup of coffee, as well as getting involved in the work of the shed. We know that shedders will find friendship in the company of new acquaintances. We also arrange some trips to outside events of interest to our members. email; [email protected]
