Sometimes the best ideas come from looking at a piece of furniture a little differently… 🤎

I’ve always loved the smaller Harris Lebus pieces, and I started wondering…

What if they could become something completely different? 👀

And that’s where the idea for these washstands began. 🫧✨

The beauty of it is that you can buy the beautifully restored Harris Lebus unit from me, take it home and create the rest yourself — choosing your own quartz worktop, basin, tap and fittings to make it completely yours.

A vintage piece of furniture, but with a whole new purpose. 🤎

Here’s Exactly What To Do 👇🏼

✔ What You’ll Need:

• A large natural bristle stencil brush
• A dry piece of cardboard
• A small amount of paint
• Low-tack tape

✔ Step 1 – Load Lightly

Dip just the very tips of your brush into a small amount of paint.
You want minimal paint — less than you think.

✔ Step 2 – Offload Properly

Brush the paint onto cardboard first.
Keep brushing until the brush looks almost dry.

If you can see wet paint — keep brushing.

✔ Step 3 – Circular Motions

Secure your stencil with tape and hold it firmly in place.
Using light pressure and circular motions, apply the paint slowly.

Work in small sections.
Build the colour gradually.

✔ Step 4 – Repeat

Less paint.
More control.
No bleed through.

How To Do Transfers 👇🏼🌸🩵

Step 1: Make sure the paint has dried completely for at least 24 hours.

Step 2: Decide where you want to place it before removing protective backing paper.

Step 3: Once ready to apply transfer remove clear release sheet to sperate transfer from its protective paper.

Step 4: Tape your transfer down to prevent it from moving while applying it.

Step 5: Working from outside edge inward, apply pressure with the burnishing stick to release the transfer.

Step 6: Gently lift the clear release sheet to check that it has adhered completely.

Step 7: Seal with Clear Coat (recommended for high traffic areas).

Recommended Products: White Lightning, Dixie Belle Paint, Clear Coat

🌸 Want to try furniture transfers👇🏼but feeling a little nervous?

Start small. 🤍

You don’t have to tackle a whole chest of drawers with one giant transfer!

Try using individual little transfers on the sides of your drawers. It’s the perfect place to practise without the pressure of getting the front of your piece perfect.

✨ Start with small elements
✨ Experiment with placement
✨ Layer individual pieces to create your own design
✨ And most importantly… practise!

The more transfers you use, the more confident you’ll become.

And before you know it, you’ll be tackling the big ones! 🙌🏼
